About

Bin Squad

Features

Trash day comes round every week, and it is still the easiest thing in the house to forget. Bin Squad is the reminder that turns up the night before, when there is still time to do something about it. No account. No address. No sign-up. You tell it which cans you have and when they go out, and that is the last admin it ever asks of you. WHAT IT DOES Reminds you the evening before, when you actually roll the can out, and again on the morning of pickup in case last night did not happen. Both are optional, and both have times you choose. Handles however many cans you have. Weekly, every other week, or any interval you like, each with its own color, its own name and its own schedule. Cans going out on the same day are treated as one trip to the curb, because that is what it is. Warns you about holidays. It never quietly moves a pickup: cities and haulers shift them inconsistently, and guessing would produce exactly the wrong reminder. It tells you a holiday is coming and lets you move that one pickup yourself if yours is affected. Lets you skip or move a single pickup without touching the pattern. Changed your mind? Every skip and move is listed, with a button to put it back. Keeps quiet hours, so a reminder never arrives at 6:30 on a Sunday morning. THE CREW Captain Garbage runs a crew of cans with rather more personality than the job requires. General Gus, Recycler Ray, Compost Chloe, Caddy Carl, Yellow Bella, and Barry, who is a rat and owns no can at all. Mark a pickup as done and you build a streak. Clear every collection in a week and that is a Perfect Week. Keep it up and more of the crew turn up, twenty or so of them, each with a job title and strong opinions about trash. None of it ever gets in the way of the information. Every reminder names the can, the day and what you need to do, however daft the line underneath it is. OR NONE OF THAT Pick "Just the facts" and the whole thing goes quiet. Plain colors, plain icons, no crew, no streaks, no jokes. Same dates, same reminders, same app underneath. Your pickup schedule does not change because you did not want a cartoon rat. You can switch between the two whenever you like, and your progress is still there if you switch back. WHAT IT COSTS Free with two cans, the trash and the recycling, which is what most households put out. That includes the reminders, the holiday warnings, the skips and moves, and the whole points, streaks and rewards side of it. Nothing is time limited and there is no trial to forget about. The Full Experience removes the limit, so you can add the yard waste, the compost, the glass and whatever else your city collects, and it opens the rest of the crew to be earned. Monthly, yearly, or a one-time payment if you would rather never think about it again. YOUR DATA STAYS HERE Everything lives on your phone. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account to make, and we never ask where you live. You can export the lot to a plain file to keep, or to send to whoever else in the house deals with the trash. A NOTE ON DATES Your pickup dates come from what you enter, not from your city. Bin Squad reminds you of the schedule you gave it. If something looks wrong, check with your city or hauler, and Cap will follow whatever you tell him. TERMS AND PRIVACY Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ Privacy Policy: https://gabbotech.com/privacy/binsquad/ The Full Experience is a monthly or yearly subscription, or a single payment for lifetime access.
