About

Scanlog

Features

Scanlog turns your iPhone into a barcode workstation: run a stock count, see what each code actually contains, and get the numbers out as a spreadsheet. STOCK COUNTS Start a named count, then scan. Each scan adds one unit — no tapping between items. Scanlog buzzes to confirm and says the item and its new total out loud, so you can keep your eyes on the shelf; the in-app camera also shows a running total, the last item and a Stop button. Name an item once and Scanlog remembers it for every future count. Tag lines with an aisle, bin or room when one storeroom isn't enough. Paste in an expected-quantity list (straight from Excel or Numbers) and the count turns into an audit: matched, short, over, missing and unexpected, line by line. Two people can count the same area on separate phones and merge the results. Export the lot as a CSV with counted, expected and variance columns. Counts stay open until you close them, and reopen whenever you need. WHAT IT READS - Retail barcodes — EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, ITF-14. Check digits are validated, UPC-E is expanded, and the GS1 prefix tells you where the brand registered the code. - Books — ISBN-13 with the ISBN-10 equivalent and a direct Open Library link. - Logistics and pharma — GS1-128, GS1 DataMatrix and GS1 QR codes are broken into their parts: GTIN, SSCC, batch, serial, expiry and best-before dates, weights, purchase order, GLNs. - QR codes — websites, Wi-Fi logins, contacts (vCard and MECARD), email, phone, SMS, map locations, calendar events and two-factor setup codes, each with the right action button. - Anything else — Aztec, Data Matrix, PDF417, Code 39, Code 93, Code 128, Codabar, plus raw text and JSON. MAKE CODES TOO Generate any of the formats above from typed data: QR, EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, Codabar, ITF-14, Data Matrix, PDF417, Aztec and bracketed GS1 element strings. Check digits are filled in for you, mistakes are explained in plain words, and the result can be shown full screen at full brightness for someone else to scan, shared as a PNG, or saved to Photos. Short forms write the tricky payloads for you: a contact card (vCard) that adds itself to any phone, a Wi-Fi code guests join by pointing their camera at it, or a link, email, text message, phone number or calendar event — correctly escaped, no syntax to remember. BATCH MODE Keep the scanner open and every new code is saved as you go, with a buzz to confirm. Made for stock counts and goods-in checks, not one code at a time. HISTORY AND EXPORT Every scan is saved on your phone with what it was and when. Search it, delete what you don't need, and export the lot to a CSV that opens cleanly in Excel or Numbers — via AirDrop, Mail, Files or any share destination. BUILT TO BE CAREFUL - Suspicious links are flagged before you tap: plain http, lookalike domains using international characters, raw IP addresses, and the "@" trick used to disguise a destination. Scripting links are never opened. - Two-factor setup codes are recognised but their secret key is never displayed or saved. - Invalid check digits are called out, so a misread barcode doesn't quietly become bad data. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, no ads, no analytics, no network calls. The camera is used only to read codes — nothing is recorded or uploaded. Your scan history lives on your device and leaves it only when you choose to export it.
