RTS Plus Paratransit is a door-thru-first-door public transportation service designed for individuals with disabilities who are ADA Paratransit Eligible and unable to utilize the Regional Transit System (RTS) fixed route service independently. The service features specially trained bus operators, accessible vans, and buses with wheelchair lifts to help individuals with difficulty navigating stairs. RTS Plus riders can access shopping, social events, restaurants, medical appointments, hospitals, schools, jobs, and more. RTS Plus does not provide emergency medical transport services. Regional Transit System (RTS) also operates affordable origin-to-destination transportation through MicroTransit within designated zones in Gainesville. HOW IT WORKS: - To book a ride using your smartphone, simply set your pickup and drop-off address, choose a pickup or drop-off window, and indicate if you're bringing additional passengers. You can also book a ride over the phone by calling and speaking with one of our dispatchers. - Your bus fare can be paid in advance on your smartphone with a credit or debit card or on the day of your ride to the bus operator with cash. Our bus operators do not have change, so exact fare is needed. - You will receive an automated call or text reminder a day before your scheduled trip. You will also receive a call or text when your bus operator is on the way and upon arrival. The RTS Plus rider app lets you track your ride status in real-time! - Once the bus operator arrives at your pickup location, they will wait 5 minutes for you to appear. If they arrive early, the bus operator will wait until the start of your pickup window before starting the 5-minute wait period. - RTS Plus is a shared ride service, which means you may not go directly to your destination without your bus operator picking up or dropping off other riders along the way. Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: AliviRide at 4.9 against RTS Plus's 3.0. AliviRide also leads on ratings volume (5K vs 4) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). RTS Plus's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 68%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
AliviRide holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AliviRide has 5K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 68% of AliviRide's written reviews are positive against 100% of RTS Plus's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
