Mosquiter
Read full descriptionHide full description
Mosquiter is an experimental mosquito repeller for iPhone and Apple Watch. It combines sound from the iPhone speaker with haptic pulses on your wrist and keeps both devices in one synchronized session. HOW IT WORKS • Three modes: iPhone only (sound), Watch only (vibration) or dual mode (both together). • Sound presets in the mosquito hearing range (170 Hz and 250 Hz), a 16 kHz high tone or a custom frequency. • Five haptic types including an irregular pattern, plus Boost for a stronger effect. • Timing and tone vary slightly and irregularly, so the rhythm is not machine-perfect. • The Optimize button sets the parameters for your available devices. EASY TO USE • Start protection on the iPhone, on the Watch or with Siri and Shortcuts. The other device joins automatically with the same end time. • Countdown on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. • Watch face complication and interval changes right on your wrist. • The iPhone keeps running with the screen locked until the session ends, and the Watch vibrates while Mosquiter is on its screen. A silent notification lets you know when the session ends. • Hearing protection: sound is muted when headphones or a Bluetooth device are connected. PRIVACY No account, no ads and no analytics. The app collects no data and does not communicate with any server. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER The scientific efficacy of sound and haptic mosquito repellers is not reliably proven. The app includes cited studies and an honest explanation of what the science says. Treat Mosquiter as an experiment and a supplement, not a substitute for repellents, mosquito nets or other proven measures. It is not a medical device.

Verdict
The clearest difference is price: BenQ Smart Control at Free against Mosquiter's $3.99. BenQ Smart Control also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16.0). Mosquiter's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 months). On ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
