Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is price: RunKit at Free against Run Roster's $1.99. RunKit also leads on review sentiment (87% vs 50%) and ratings volume (56 vs 1). On rating, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

RunKit is free to download; Run Roster costs $1.99 up front. Run Roster sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and RunKit sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Run Roster holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RunKit has 56 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Run Roster's written reviews are positive against 87% of RunKit's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Run Roster ships an update every 6 weeks, RunKit fortnightly. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
