Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: Clapp App at 74% against Viya's 30%. Clapp App also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Viya's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 2.1) and ratings volume (348 vs 7). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Viya holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Viya has 348 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 30% of Viya's written reviews are positive against 74% of Clapp App's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Viya ships an update every 6 weeks, Clapp App monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
