Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Rivian at 4.4 against UNIT 1's 4.0. Rivian also leads on review sentiment (45% vs 33%) and ratings volume (1.4K vs 158). UNIT 1's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 18.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
