Verdict
Screambox and Screamify both sit at 3.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 60% of Screamify's written reviews are positive against 17% of Screambox's. Screamify also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 5 weeks) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Screambox's advantage is ratings volume (601 vs 19). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Screambox sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and Screamify sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 3.8 for Screambox against 3.7 for Screamify. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Screambox has 601 ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 17% of Screambox's written reviews are positive against 60% of Screamify's.
Screambox ships an update every 5 weeks, Screamify every 2 days. Both last shipped on October 21, 2026.
