Puffers is a shared inhaler tracker and puff counter for households managing asthma or COPD. It keeps one exact puff count for every inhaler and reminds whoever is on duty when a dose is due — so nobody has to ask "did you already give it?" again. WHY COUNTING PUFFS MATTERS A metered-dose inhaler keeps spraying long after the medicine is gone. The propellant still fires, so the puff looks and sounds completely normal even when there is no actual dose left. The only reliable way to know how much medication remains is to count every puff — and counting by hand across two or three caregivers falls apart fast. Someone forgets to mark a dose, two people guess differently, and nobody truly knows whether the inhaler is full, nearly empty, or already spraying nothing. Puffers replaces the paper chart from the doctor, which was quietly doing two jobs at once: counting puffs and coordinating between caregivers. Puffers does both, on every phone in the household. REMINDERS THAT KNOW WHO DID WHAT • When a dose is due, the caregiver on duty is reminded — log it straight from the lock screen with "Gave it" or "Didn't give it". • The moment anyone logs the puff, the reminder clears on every phone in the household. One of you handles it; nobody else is pinged for a dose that is already done. • If a dose goes unlogged, the other caregiver is asked to check, so a forgotten puff does not go unnoticed. • Prefer not to be chased? Switch on "Just remind me" and an unanswered reminder is simply recorded as given. Your puff count still counts down, and nobody is notified. BUILT AROUND THE LOG • Every puff is a permanent entry, and the remaining count is worked out from that log — so a dose can never quietly go missing or get counted twice. • One tap to log, including backdating a dose you forgot to record at the time. • Refill warnings before you run out, based on your real usage rather than a guess. • Charts and a clear history for each inhaler, ready to show the doctor. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Track a scheduled preventer — a dose ring shows puffs left and days remaining, with a per-day strip showing which doses are done and by whom. • Track an as-needed reliever — a running count plus "used N× this week" for your doctor. • Add your own medications: name, puffs per canister, how often, who gives each dose, re-prime threshold and refill point. • Log priming sprays, undo a mistaken tap, or fix the time on a dose after the fact. • Start a new canister when you reload — total puffs, purchase and expiry dates, and a photo of the box or label. • Clear warnings before you are caught out: expired, needs priming, running low, or expiring soon — each with a one-tap action. • Set up a household and invite the other parent or a carer with a link; you approve who joins. WHO IT IS FOR Parents and carers tracking a child's asthma inhaler, and adults keeping their own puff count for asthma or COPD. Puffers works as a preventer tracker, a reliever counter, or both at once — any metered-dose inhaler (MDI) whose puff count is worth keeping. Puffers records the doses you have already given. It does not calculate, recommend or change any dose, and it is not a substitute for medical advice — always follow your physician's and pharmacist's instructions. SUBSCRIPTION Puffers is free to try for 30 days. After the trial, Puffers Monthly is an auto-renewing monthly subscription that covers every caregiver in your household. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, and renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple Account settings. Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is monetization model: Puffers at free against Box Breathing's free with in-app purchases. Puffers also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 79%) and update cadence (every 6 days vs every 3 weeks). Box Breathing's advantage is ratings volume (318 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings
