The app also requests motion data and location information to measure and display running route and pace data. All data is measured and stored on device and is not shared with the developer in any way. If you've read this far thank you for your interest in Run Roster. Verdict
The clearest difference is price: adidas Running at Free against Run Roster's $1.99. adidas Running also leads on ratings volume (108K vs 1) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 weeks). Run Roster's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
adidas Running is free to download; Run Roster costs $1.99 up front. adidas Running sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and Run Roster sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Run Roster holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: adidas Running has 108K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of adidas Running's written reviews are positive against 50% of Run Roster's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
adidas Running ships an update every 2 weeks, Run Roster every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 24, 2026 and August 18, 2026 respectively.
