Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Microsoft OneNote at 4.7 against VibeCheck's 4.3. Microsoft OneNote also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (1.1M vs 16). VibeCheck's advantage is review sentiment (75% vs 44%) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

Both are free to download. Microsoft OneNote sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and VibeCheck sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Microsoft OneNote holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Microsoft OneNote has 1.1M ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 44% of Microsoft OneNote's written reviews are positive against 75% of VibeCheck's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Microsoft OneNote ships an update weekly, VibeCheck every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 21, 2026.
