Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: GMX at 4.7 against Keepd's 4.0. GMX also leads on ratings volume (17K vs 4). Keepd's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (87% vs 77%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GMX sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Keepd sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
GMX holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GMX has 17K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 77% of GMX's written reviews are positive against 87% of Keepd's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
GMX ships an update fortnightly, Keepd weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
