Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: iRaceWeigh at 100% against LapSnap's 30%. iRaceWeigh also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 7) and ads (none vs shown). LapSnap's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 3.0) and update cadence (every 11 days vs every 7 months). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. LapSnap sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. iRaceWeigh asks for nothing beyond the download.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

LapSnap holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LapSnap has 242 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of iRaceWeigh's written reviews are positive against 30% of LapSnap's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

iRaceWeigh ships an update every 7 months, LapSnap every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
