Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: MNGE at 4.6 against Zappar's 3.5. Zappar's advantage is review sentiment (53% vs 43%) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
MNGE holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 71 and 172 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 53% of Zappar's written reviews are positive against 43% of MNGE's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Zappar ships an update every 3 months, MNGE every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
