Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: vCheckin at 5.0 against MySCE's 1.9. vCheckin also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (12 vs 16.0). MySCE's advantage is ratings volume (1.3K vs 2) and update cadence (monthly vs every 5 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
vCheckin holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MySCE has 1.3K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.
MySCE ships an update monthly, vCheckin every 5 months. Both last shipped on September 30, 2026.
