Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Redtiger Cam at 2.8 against OMBAR's 2.0. Redtiger Cam also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks) and chart position (#204 vs unranked). OMBAR's advantage is iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Redtiger Cam holds the better App Store score, 2.8 against 2.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 106 and 142 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of OMBAR's written reviews are positive against 18% of Redtiger Cam's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
OMBAR ships an update every 6 weeks, Redtiger Cam fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
