Can you list your top five most important values? As we go about our daily lives, it's all too easy to go through the motions without ever taking time to examine and clarify our personal values. Making decisions based on our values allows us to live lives with more meaning and purpose. This evidence-based activity is proven to change your mood and improve your outlook. All it requires is your careful attention and honest responses. We highly recommend doing this activity as a family or with a spouse or partner. We also recommend doing it at least once a year to see what has changed for you. This is especially true if you are a teenager or a young adult. This exercise is based on research conducted by William Miller, Janet C'de Baca, Daniel Matthews, and Paula Wilbourne and is used by therapists, career counselors, teachers, etc., all over the world.

About

Values Card Sort

What do you want your life to be about? Values Card Sort is a calm, focused space to answer that question. Work through a deck of 83 value cards — like honesty, family, creativity, and adventure — sorting each into what's Very Important, Important, or Not Important to you. Then narrow the field to the ten that resonate most, choose your top five, and put them in order. Finally, reflect on each one and name a single small step you can take this week. It's a simple, structured way to step back from the noise and notice what actually matters to you. WHY CLARIFY YOUR VALUES When your choices line up with your values, life tends to feel more meaningful — even when it's hard. When they drift apart, it's easy to feel stuck or restless without knowing why. Getting clear on your values turns that vague feeling into something you can act on. WHAT'S INSIDE • A full 83-card values deck, sorted at your own pace • Guided narrowing from 83 to 10 to 5, then ranking • Reflection prompts and a "one small step" for each of your top values • Save past sorts and see how your values shift over time • Optional iCloud sync across your devices • Optional Face ID lock to keep your reflections private • Export a clean PDF of your results to keep or share • Add your own custom values • Full Spanish support, Dark Mode, and accessibility built in PRIVATE BY DESIGN Your reflections stay on your device, and in your own iCloud if you turn on sync. No accounts. No ads. No tracking. The developer doesn't collect any data. Values shift with the seasons of your life — come back anytime to see where your compass points now. This is a personal reflection exercise, not medical advice or a substitute for professional care.
