Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: ECHO Water at 4.6 against Ways2Well's 3.4. Ways2Well's advantage is review sentiment (49% vs 21%) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 weeks). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
ECHO Water holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 59 and 141 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 49% of Ways2Well's written reviews are positive against 21% of ECHO Water's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Ways2Well ships an update every 2 weeks, ECHO Water every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
