About

Untranslated

Features

Untranslated is a language-learning app built around real videos, interactive captions, and understanding words in their original context. Instead of replacing what you are watching with a complete translation, Untranslated helps you follow the original language more confidently. Choose a video in the language you are learning and watch with interactive captions. Words highlight as they are spoken. When you miss something, tap the word to see its meaning in that sentence, hear its pronunciation, save it with context, and continue watching. Learn from videos you choose Build lessons around real videos you genuinely want to watch rather than scripted textbook conversations. Tap unfamiliar words Captions become interactive. Tap a word when you need help without searching elsewhere or losing your place in the video. Follow the word being spoken The current word highlights as it is said, so you can stay with the original line while you listen. Hide easier words Choose a level from A1 to C2. Words below it fade to a light underline, so the captions match your level and you tap only when a harder word needs help. Understand the specific moment A word can mean different things in different situations. Untranslated explains the meaning that fits the sentence you are watching. Save words with their context Keep useful vocabulary alongside the sentence and video where you encountered it, making each saved word easier to remember. Review at the right time Saved words stay open until you can produce them from memory. Practise their meanings, prove them twice, and they become learned. Follow your learning path Resume recent lessons, practise the words still open, revisit what you have already proven, and see where you are from one place. See what each session added Finish with a clear recap of the words you explored, time spent with the video, and progress made through it. Untranslated is designed for immersion without leaving you lost. Keep watching the original. Understand more of it.
