Photograph your shelf and Rewind identifies the tapes and discs in the picture. Every title it recognizes lands in your collection. Photograph a shelf in a store instead and each title gets a verdict, yes, maybe, or no, with a written reason. Titles you already own and titles on your want list are marked in the results. The app reads the spine or the cover, not a barcode. SCAN YOUR SHELF 1. Take up to three photos of spines, covers, or stacks. 2. Rewind matches what it reads against a catalog of over 960k releases. 3. Matched titles are added to your collection at once. Titles you already own are skipped. 4. Titles it could not match show the text it read. Pick the right title, or skip it. 5. Undo any add from the receipt. YOUR COLLECTION Each copy records the label, the format, the year, and the catalog number. Beyond the scanner, add copies by search or by import: a Letterboxd export, or a CSV from Libib, CLZ Movies, My Movies, iCollect, IMDb, or a plain spreadsheet. Mark titles watched, rate them, and keep a watch history. Export the whole collection to CSV from Settings. Your collection and want list are stored on the phone and work without a connection. KNOW WHERE TO HUNT Rewind lists more than 32,000 stores across the US. Save the ones you visit. Pick your stops and Rewind orders them nearest-first and opens the route in Google Maps. Events near you are listed with dates, and with distance once you allow location. OVER 750,000 RELEASES The catalog covers VHS, LaserDisc, DVD, Blu-ray, 4K, and seven other formats. Title pages show the poster, description, release year, genres, and the labels that released it. STAFF PICKS EVERY MONDAY A new set of titles arrives each Monday, each with a note on why it is worth chasing. One tap adds a pick to your want list. Guides collect titles around a label, an era, or one idea. NO ACCOUNT NEEDED Open the app and scan. Sign in if you want your collection, want list, and ratings on every device and on the web. Your collection, search, import, sync, the weekly picks, and store scans stay free. Shelf scans into your collection start with 5 free, then 3 each month. One scan covers up to three photos. Special Edition removes the shelf-scan limit and adds picks that fit your taste, a taste-matched verdict on every scan, and custom poster art. It is a subscription through your Apple ID and renews until you cancel. Subscribing supports Rewind and what comes next. Keptcase is for people who still buy the disc, the record, the hardback and the cartridge and want it all catalogued properly, valued honestly, and beautiful to scroll. Point your camera at a barcode and the item lands on your shelf with its cover, year, cast and studio filled in. Batch mode keeps the scanner open for a whole haul. FOUR SHELVES, ONE APP Movies and TV, music, books and comics, and games each get their own shelf with the details that matter to it — directors and studios, artists and labels, authors and publishers, platforms and regions. One subscription covers them all. KNOW WHAT IT'S WORTH Live market values on every shelf, with no setup. See what you paid, what it's worth now, and the gain — then export a dated PDF inventory for insurance. EVERY EDITION, COUNTED SEPARATELY Own a film on VHS, DVD and 4K? Keptcase folds them into one card while keeping each copy's own condition, value and history. Box sets hold their contents. Filter by boutique label or studio. THE WHOLE RUN, AND THE GAPS Series cards lay out a run in order — the numbers you own, the ones on your wishlist, and the gaps named, each with a Wishlist button. A show's page counts its seasons and how far you've watched each. IN THE SHOP, WONDERING IF YOU OWN IT? Scan any barcode — or type the title — and your shelf answers on the spot: on your shelf, owned but not this release, or not on your shelf, with what it goes for online. COMICS, ON THEIR OWN RACK Tap the Books title and switch to Comics: single issues, trades, omnibuses and graded slabs, with publisher and writer, counted and valued apart from your books. GO DEEPER ON EVERY TITLE • Trailers, full cast and More Like This for films • Season and episode breakdowns for TV • Platform details for games • Tracklists for albums • Blurbs and author details for books • Search by actor — "Nicolas Cage" finds every film he's in NEVER BUY A DUPLICATE AGAIN Keep a wishlist, then publish a read-only web page of your shelf and send the link before a birthday. Gift givers see what you're hunting for; link your Instagram, YouTube and TikTok, and follow other collectors' shelves. A DIARY FOR WHAT YOU ACTUALLY WATCH Log every watch, listen, read and play with a rating and a note. Get a monthly recap, a shareable year-in-review card, and stats by decade, genre, format and creator. Collector badges mark the milestones. CAN'T DECIDE? ASK THE SHELF Tonight's Pick draws from what you own, filtered by mood and genre. On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, ask your shelf in plain language — "a horror film I haven't watched" — and it answers from your own collection, entirely on device. THE DETAILS COLLECTORS ACTUALLY TRACK Condition and completeness, purchase price and date, who you loaned it to, ratings and notes, cover photos you shoot yourself, and every format from 4K and steelbook to vinyl, cassette, hardback and cartridge. BRING YOUR COLLECTION WITH YOU Import a CSV from whatever you use now, and sync ratings and watch dates from a Letterboxd export. Re-importing is safe — items update, never duplicate. Optional cloud backup restores your shelf onto a new phone. YOUR DATA IS YOURS Your collection lives on your iPhone. Cloud backup is optional and off until you turn it on; signing in uses Sign in with Apple. No tracking, no ads, nothing sold, ever.
