Your collection should do more than sit in a list. It is combo packs, box sets, Steelbooks, seasons, and shelves arranged your way. Most catalog apps flatten all of that into a list. Cinecase keeps the physical collection intact, then helps you choose what to watch from the films you actually own. Already catalogued somewhere else? Importing your collection is free. LET MOVIE NIGHT CHOOSE Open Movie Night when nobody can decide. Start with unwatched films, narrow by genre, runtime, actor, or director, and let Cinecase reveal one equal-odds pick from your shelf. Films inside a Collection stay eligible, so the box never hides what is inside. LINE UP WHAT COMES NEXT Up Next is the plan you keep between movie nights. Add films from Movie Night or a film's details, then drag them into the order you want. Every row tells you which disc to pull, down to the shelf and box set. Up Next is free; Pro adds separate queues for a marathon, the kids, or a boutique catch-up. RECORD WHAT YOU ACTUALLY OWN A Blu-ray + DVD + Digital pack is one case, not three entries. A complete series and a single season are different things, and Cinecase keeps them so. Capture what makes a copy yours: • Collector lines such as Criterion, Arrow, and Steelbook, plus your own when the list does not cover it • Spine numbers, editions, packaging, and bonus features • 4K UHD, Blu-ray, 3D, DVD, VHS, LaserDisc, and other formats • Notes, loans, ratings, and watch history ARRANGE IT THE WAY YOU WANT Drag cases into your own order, or let sorting keep things alphabetical. Browse spines like a shelf, or switch to covers. Use your own photo for free, or choose alternate artwork with Pro. Separate 4K from Blu-ray, TV from film, or the kids' shelf from the rest. Build shelves that match how you already think, and move titles between them. (Extra shelves are Pro; the main shelf is free.) GROUP WHAT BELONGS TOGETHER Build Collections for trilogies, franchises, and box sets. A Collection sits on the shelf as the single case it is, and opens to show the films inside. KEEP A WISHLIST Add the films you still want. Tap Got it when you buy one, and share the list with family. FIND ANYTHING AGAIN Search titles, actors, and directors. Combine filters for format, genre, content type, watched state, packaging, and more. A combo case turns up under every format it holds. See stats for formats, genres, decades, directors, collector lines, and duplicates. ADD RELEASES QUICKLY Scan a barcode to check a shared database built by other collectors. Not in it yet? The barcode drops into a prefilled entry you finish in seconds, and your fix helps whoever scans it next. New lookups can arrive in your language. BRING YOUR COLLECTION WITH YOU, FREE Switching from another app? Import DVD Profiler, CLZ, My Movies, Letterboxd, Libib, Blu-ray.com or CSV, free. A DVD Profiler export keeps your box sets whole instead of scattering them into loose films. Exporting is free too. YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS Cinecase is local-first. No account is needed for the basic shelf, and there are no ads and no third-party tracking. Export everything as JSON, CSV, XML, or a printable PDF. Optional Google Drive sync keeps the backup in your own Google account. Made by one developer you can reach from inside the app: Settings > Help > Contact support writes the report for you. Nothing is sent until you send it, and your titles are never included. FREE CORE, OPTIONAL LIFETIME PRO The core app is fully usable and free forever. Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It adds: • Batch scanning for a whole stack of discs • Extra shelves, and moving titles between them • Separate Up Next queues • Alternate artwork and nine more shelf themes • Genre views by category • Google Drive sync and restore, across your devices • Duplicate cleanup for large collections Imports and exports stay in the free core, never behind Pro. Keptcase is for people who still buy the disc, the record, the hardback and the cartridge and want it all catalogued properly, valued honestly, and beautiful to scroll. Point your camera at a barcode and the item lands on your shelf with its cover, year, cast and studio filled in. Batch mode keeps the scanner open for a whole haul. FOUR SHELVES, ONE APP Movies and TV, music, books and comics, and games each get their own shelf with the details that matter to it — directors and studios, artists and labels, authors and publishers, platforms and regions. One subscription covers them all. KNOW WHAT IT'S WORTH Live market values on every shelf, with no setup. See what you paid, what it's worth now, and the gain — then export a dated PDF inventory for insurance. EVERY EDITION, COUNTED SEPARATELY Own a film on VHS, DVD and 4K? Keptcase folds them into one card while keeping each copy's own condition, value and history. Box sets hold their contents. Filter by boutique label or studio. THE WHOLE RUN, AND THE GAPS Series cards lay out a run in order — the numbers you own, the ones on your wishlist, and the gaps named, each with a Wishlist button. A show's page counts its seasons and how far you've watched each. IN THE SHOP, WONDERING IF YOU OWN IT? Scan any barcode — or type the title — and your shelf answers on the spot: on your shelf, owned but not this release, or not on your shelf, with what it goes for online. COMICS, ON THEIR OWN RACK Tap the Books title and switch to Comics: single issues, trades, omnibuses and graded slabs, with publisher and writer, counted and valued apart from your books. GO DEEPER ON EVERY TITLE • Trailers, full cast and More Like This for films • Season and episode breakdowns for TV • Platform details for games • Tracklists for albums • Blurbs and author details for books • Search by actor — "Nicolas Cage" finds every film he's in NEVER BUY A DUPLICATE AGAIN Keep a wishlist, then publish a read-only web page of your shelf and send the link before a birthday. Gift givers see what you're hunting for; link your Instagram, YouTube and TikTok, and follow other collectors' shelves. A DIARY FOR WHAT YOU ACTUALLY WATCH Log every watch, listen, read and play with a rating and a note. Get a monthly recap, a shareable year-in-review card, and stats by decade, genre, format and creator. Collector badges mark the milestones. CAN'T DECIDE? ASK THE SHELF Tonight's Pick draws from what you own, filtered by mood and genre. On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, ask your shelf in plain language — "a horror film I haven't watched" — and it answers from your own collection, entirely on device. THE DETAILS COLLECTORS ACTUALLY TRACK Condition and completeness, purchase price and date, who you loaned it to, ratings and notes, cover photos you shoot yourself, and every format from 4K and steelbook to vinyl, cassette, hardback and cartridge. BRING YOUR COLLECTION WITH YOU Import a CSV from whatever you use now, and sync ratings and watch dates from a Letterboxd export. Re-importing is safe — items update, never duplicate. Optional cloud backup restores your shelf onto a new phone. YOUR DATA IS YOURS Your collection lives on your iPhone. Cloud backup is optional and off until you turn it on; signing in uses Sign in with Apple. No tracking, no ads, nothing sold, ever. Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Cinecase at 4.4 against Keptcase's 4.2. Cinecase also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.0). Keptcase's advantage is ratings volume (19 vs 5). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cinecase sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Keptcase sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Cinecase holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 5 and 19 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of Cinecase's written reviews are positive against 77% of Keptcase's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Cinecase ships an update every 2 days, Keptcase every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on September 20, 2026 and September 27, 2026 respectively.
