Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: The Norman Transcript at 80% against Tulsa's 29%. The Norman Transcript also leads on rating (4.5 vs 4.3). Tulsa's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 5 months) and chart position (#193 vs unranked). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tulsa sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $29.99 per month and The Norman Transcript sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
The Norman Transcript holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tulsa has 1.1K ratings behind it against 138, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 29% of Tulsa's written reviews are positive against 80% of The Norman Transcript's.
Tulsa ships an update every 2 months, The Norman Transcript every 5 months. Both last shipped on September 29, 2026.
