App Task Force is a mobile Applicationto make an area safer by increasing community engagement with law enforcement agencies. The App allows citizens to easily report, in real time, certain types of crimes. The submitted information is then automatically transmitted to Officers patrolling the area so they can rapidly respond and investigate. Citizens are encouraged to submit photographs as a picture is worth a thousand words. The App however can only be used where the corresponding dedicated police presence is funded and the companion Officer and Administration Apps installed. Once an agency or neighborhood decides to utilize the Application, a unique App for their specific area is created that allows citizens in that area to report suspicious and potentially criminal activity that they are observing in real time. The App was first launched in March 2015 in the French Quarter of New Orleans and has continuously operated there ever since its initial deployment. The App and its companion police presence is credited with a significant reduction in crime and is now utilized in other Security Districts. The App was developed by SDT Productions LLC and their software development teammate LookFar Labs.
