Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Canon Camera Connect at 4.8 against HND's 3.0. Canon Camera Connect also leads on ratings volume (151K vs 815) and chart position (#47 vs unranked). HND's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 18.0). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Canon Camera Connect holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Canon Camera Connect has 151K ratings behind it against 815, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 21% of Canon Camera Connect's written reviews are positive against 24% of HND's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Canon Camera Connect ships an update every 3 months, HND every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
