StepUp Pedometer Step Counter also leads on ratings volume (138K vs 2) and update cadence (every 3 days vs fortnightly). Both are free to download. StepUp Pedometer Step Counter sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $1.00 per month. One Million Steps asks for nothing beyond the download.
StepUp Pedometer Step Counter holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: StepUp Pedometer Step Counter has 138K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 73% of StepUp Pedometer Step Counter's written reviews are positive against 75% of One Million Steps's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
StepUp Pedometer Step Counter ships an update every 3 days, One Million Steps fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 27, 2026 and July 4, 2026 respectively.
