  • Best User Friendly Fitness App

This is the best user friendly fitness app for people who like multifunctional training.
I’ve been using this app for many years however every now and then I try others who claim to be amazing but I always come back to Keelo.

    Improvements needed as follows.

Add Warm up sets to Strength.
Break strength exercises into Push/Pull/Squat/Hip Hinge.
Add some new Warm ups and cool downs.
    Include foam rolling in cooldowns.

I’m currently using all the above on other apps however Keelo is the best so far to use when training. The strength work is very limited so it would be good to have some sort of focus or program with resistance training ie Strength, Gain Muscle, Power Lift, Olympic lifts etc..

  • Great app but a few tweets would make it perfect

I’m really enjoying this app after a week of using. The variation of workouts is great and the instructions and videos are really clear and easy to follow along. I also appreciate the recommended weight but with the option to amend to weight that suits you.

It would be great to be able to see the week or even day aheads workout. Not essential but I like to prepare myself and it makes planning in active rest more effective if you know your training program. The main irritation with the app is that it doesn’t allow for time between exercises, meaning some exercises get less time than others due to having to move into new positions. A 5 second ‘prepare for next exercise’ would make this app excellent!

  • Good, but could be GREAT

A good app to prompt home CrossFit-like workouts, ie structured warmup/strength component/conditioning ‘WOD’ workout/cooldown. This is varied across body parts and fundamental movements, and can be adjusted to the kit available to you. It also has a huge range of pre populated workout library. So far so good.

Despite reviews, I’m not entirely sure it varies the workouts across the different energy systems (as regular Crossfitters will know) of the body in a planned program way, but perhaps that’s more obvious over time - I’ve only been using it for a few weeks.

It’s quite regularly glitchy, not synchronised between phone and Apple Watch, or crashing especially with trying to control external music apps from within Keelo. They haven’t updated for 2yrs and most reviews seem to be from 2-3yrs, with no response to a feedback email I sent, so I wonder if the developers have turned their back on taking it further.

Which brings me to what it could be.

If you could put in your own workouts, for instance if you split your time between working out at home with Keelo and visiting a local box/gym, and include those inputs in your total progress, it’d be a game changer - a central hub for all your workouts.

If it held an in app chat to engage with the community (á la Ladder) rather than just insta-style posts and a daily coach video with a real person, it’d radically improve it and use well-established sports psychology lessons to engage and motivate its users longterm.

The price for what seems to be an adequate and no longer meaningfully supported app is a bit high.

  • Gave me motivation!

I have done just under 500 work outs with this app over the last few years and without it I would never have pushed myself the way I did. Customizable depending on the equipment available which is huge if you are not using the same gym all the time, or no gym at all.
  • Best training app I’ve used

This is the first app that I have used that really does the combination of strength and conditioning well. I’ve used good strength apps, and I’ve used decent conditioning apps. But this combines them in a way that makes me feel like I am not focusing too exclusively on one or the other.
Their programming, so far, has felt tailor made for me. I don’t need to think about how often I’m working which groups of muscles or if I’m resting enough between days, etc.
Their videos and tips are perfect for beginners and more experienced lifters who just need the cues as a refresher. The only thing that could be better is if there was someone in the room giving you feedback (it would be really cool if they added some “form checking” AR features).
Lastly, this is the first app of its kind that I feel like is targeted toward people who are serious about fitness. This isn’t a “get off the couch and get moving” product. I was able to jump right in to lifting at my current level in a way that felt natural, which seems so simple but a lot of other products totally miss.
    Would highly recommend!!

  • Good UX. Weird workouts. No support.

I’m a fan of this app and way the workouts flow. I don’t have to touch the screen too much, and there is a demonstrative video for each exercise. The interface is nice.

However, my impression of the workouts themselves is that they are designed by smaller guys or by women. Some of the workouts are great because they’re cardio focused and scale well for larger men. But other workouts are clearly designed using like a 5 or 15 lb dumbbell, and they don’t scale up well. Flinging a 50 lb dumbbell over one’s head puts a ton of stress on the joints, ligaments and tendons in the arms and shoulders. You are likely get an injury doing this stuff with larger weights.

I’ve also read that the app is no longer actively supported, which seems to be true. The Email the Coach feature yields no response. Plenty of room for improvement. But I don’t think I’m going to keep my subscription, given the lack of support.

  • Keelo - The ultimate fitness app

This app is seriously amazing! I'm really into CrossFit-style training and this app has been a game-changer for me.

What I love most about Keelo is how challenging and effective the workouts are, but they're still tailored to my fitness level. I never feel like I'm overdoing it or risking injury. Plus, the interface is so easy to use and navigate. I never find myself confused about what to do next.

The Keelo community is also great. It's so cool to connect with other Keelo users, share progress, and even compete in challenges and workouts. It's definitely motivating to see how I'm doing compared to others!

Overall, I highly recommend Keelo to anyone looking to get fit and strong with CrossFit-style workouts. It's an amazing app and I hope the owners keep updating and improving it!

  • Used to be the best app for CrossFit style workouts but now no updates

I have been a dedicated user of Keelo for nearly 4 years now, logging over 3800 workouts.

I am however getting very concerned that the app has not been updated in a long long time, with your social media page inactive since 2021.

Is keelo still updating and supporting the app?

I really value the programmed CrossFit style training format that integrates with apple health. I do not want to be forced to switch to another app due to lack of support

  • The best fitness app I’ve ever used. Period.

I’ve been using Keelo for a little over 3 years now and I’m mortified I’m just now leaving a review. I’ve been a certified personal trainer across multiple boards, a CrossFit coach, and a fan of functional fitness in general for most of my life. Keelo provides fantastic programming that has continually shown me consistent benefits in every area of my fitness and overall health. The AI programming knows exactly where to set my max #’s so that I continuing getting stronger, the workouts themselves always leave me gassed and burning the fat I want to WITHOUT burning me out! The scaling options have allowed me to get proficient, if not excellent, with movements and lifts that I once thought I simply did not have the physiology to do. The videos have guided my form the whole way through. I recommend this app to anyone and everyone trying to improve their fitness that can’t consistently make it to a trainer or CrossFit gym for any reason. It fits my crazy schedule and out of all the weeks in 2022 lifting 5 days a week, I managed to not miss a single workout. I attribute a ton of this consistency to the Keelo app. Check it out asap if you’re ACTUALLY trying to get somewhere with your fitness!

  • Zero customer service, but the app is great

So first I want to say that I love this app. The workouts are very customizable, have a ton of variety and the videos are helpful if you’re not familiar with the routine. I am noticing strength building across all areas and I never get bored.

My one complaint is that there is absolutely zero customer service. When I’m paying a subscription fee, I expect the CS to be available. So far, my attempts to contact them have been fairly minor, but it seems as though the developer has dropped off the face of the earth and so sadly I expect the app to stop working eventually.

Hopefully they come back soon! I really do think this app is awesome.
