I’ve always used and loved the Drudge Report, but lately it has become so unstable on my iPhone. Over the last two weeks, it constantly tries to load video when I launch the app and when I try to read articles. The app will flash between the video then the story then the video, etc. In addition, all of the ads make the experience terrible. The article will jump all over the screen as different ads load. While I love the content I can no longer deal with the app experience. I have deleted the app.
Excellent app. If you don’t agree with his straight forward approach to the news, delete the app. Simple.
Great source for news across the spectrum. Pay sites should take a lesson from drudge and make their content available for free. It will blast your hits into the stratosphere.
Anyhow, we access drudge regularly, it is one of the few sites that posts news as it happens without the nonsensical slant of the msm.
Have been adding to the totals for Drudge site hits for years now. For being one of the hottest and most influential online news sites out there, you’d think Matt would have something worth keeping for a mobile device interface. I hate this app and have for a very long time. I keep deleting out of frustration and then reloading to try again every six months or so but it only gets worse over time. The last 100 or so visits I’ve made to this app have ended in frustration from all the adds and pop-ups. Today I delete for good. I’m guessing that Matt Drudge doesn’t really care though..... the next “thanks a billion” headline he puts up only indicates he cares about web-hits to his site and not the satisfaction of his readers/followers.

It was working normally yesterday but today, zippo. All I get is a white screen with a Drudge Report logo on the bottom. Once in a while, like every tenth try or so, it will load properly but even that’s iffy. I’ve reinstalled it a few times and rebooted the phone more than once (7s, current iOS). I’ve resorted to using the non-app browser version which is unreadable without zooming in.
Been using this app for almost a decade on my IPhone but lately it's nearly impossible to read some of the linked articles due to ads on the other side. Pages won't load or they will stop responding. It used to be 1/20 articles that had this problem, now it seems to be approximately 1/5 times I'm force-closing the app because of non-responsiveness. Articles have become all but unreadable as video ads pop up repeatedly, without even touching the screen. Very infuriating, deleting the app.
Been reading this app for years. Stories will appear that don't show up on other mainstream sites. There is no gospel in the media today so sometimes certain things are are ignored or spun in different ways. Good counterpoint to The NY Times. Won't have to look on page five for retractions to emotionally charged reports.
Terrible app for two reasons
1. Very Aggressive ads which are in your face constantly and ads that are shill ads. Hate the WSJ articles because they are really TEASER articles/ads to subscribe to WSJ if you want to read the article Drudge has linked too.
2. Drudge now has begun catering in a big way to corrupt “news” stories from Yahoo and NY Times and the AP. Most of the “news” he posts from all the lib media outlets are editorial hit pieces disguised as reporting. Follow the money and you will see Drudge is a sell out.
Why is it that we have to put up with all the above in order to read one of the best if not the best news coverage that's available?
If I was Drudge I would be doing something about all the embedded dishonest like walking through a field just to read latest " honest and most accurate " news... with a BIG- HINT, HINT DRUDGE ( ???? ) thanks for only the best news part , really does anyone care anymore ? So sad, all about $$$$& huh?
SAD DAY AMERICA...! When reading the best news is like walking through a mine field traps of all sorts of pesky apps, pure CRAP! Lots of them either take over your smart phone or actually locks/shuts you out of reading drudge news...! Often I even have to power down my phone to just recover to use my phone. So, the only way that I can read drudge is don't finger tap 80 % of what I wanted to read, to reduce threat level of being attacked. Daily after reading drudge , I dump it by removing/deleting app until tomorrow. Only App that I actually/honestly am more excited of my daily deleting it than I am getting/downloading it . SAD DAY AMERICA, REALLY!
Such a great web site has hired a web team that disgraces the name. Pure spam crap. Don't bother with this app, but go to DrudgeReport using Safari or some legitimate browser. This app serves WHOLE PAGE ADS THAT CONTAINS SIX ADS ON THE PAGE, that then left audio playing in the background whenever I re-opened the app, THE FINAL STRAW THAT CAUSED ME TO DELETE THE APP. Loyal fans deserve better than this. I actually thought spammers were hijacking the name. I am not going to tolerate this spam spitball any longer. the aggravation of extreme spam is no longer tolerable, worst app on the web.
GO DRUDGE, BUT FIRE YOUR WEB TEAM!
Drudge has been my 'go to' since he got started. That said, I'm spending too much time having to refresh the app to escape the endless spam that takes over my phone's browser. I understand ads are necessary, but spam only pays for itself for about three user sessions, then they are gone forever. Deleting this app after I write this. C'mon Matt! Still love your work, but this app spam is pure evil.
Update: Tried app again for a week and now happy to see spam ads gone. Changing to Five Stars. Thanks Matt!
