Terrible update

Bunq used to be the clearest way I could be in charge of my finances, clearly see my money and I couldn’t stop talking about how great it was to all my friends. Then came the V3 (or 14.0.0) update and everything I raved about and loved about Bunq is gone. I can’t find my finances anywhere, my accounts are clouded by tribes and causes and trees that frankly have nothing to do with how I bank. I don’t need an Instagram feed of all the up-sells bunq wants me to buy, and the once amazing customisations I could make on my account to help me stay organised are gone. It is clear bunq is now only looking to make a profit and doesn’t care about its core customer base who used to love the clean, easy to use bunq app. Now it takes me 5 steps to change which account is linked to which card, to find the accounts I’m looking for, getting support and even just navigating my profile. There wasn’t even a tutorial about where everything has moved. Really thinking about leaving bunq and spending my money on banking elsewhere. Please bring back the previous app. If I could give 0 stars, I would. To new users— stay away.

It used to be my favorite bank

bunq is a bank I used to love. However, I think they received too much love and praise from their customers. They changed from a fun and open startup bank into an arrogant platform that completely lost its purpose. From a bank, I expect a service that helps me manage my money. However, the new bunq mainly wants to up sell and show how narcissistic they are by featuring their Instagram feed as prominently as my actual expenses.

Not liking the new redesign

I've been a happy premium customer since 2018. The previous design was perfect and felt like a bank app. The new design is a big step backwards in terms of design and functionality. I can sadly no longer recommend Bunq and will be looking for alternatives. I will happily return when the app is fixed.

Unusable

This update made the app bad. You removed all the usability features the previous version had and replaced them with a confusing interface and hidden options. Now I have to read more and click more in order to do the same I did before (If it is not broken). Bring back the previous version.

60% price increase

I enjoyed bunq's features but they just increased prices for two people by €6 per month, with no transparent communication. Only when digging into blog posts and forums was the price increase clear. I no longer trust this bank and cannot recommend them.

Rubbish

Had numerous problems trying to top up the account. Nothing works apart from managed to get one Apple pay payment into the account, then the Apple Pay wasn’t available, so now I can’t pay the 7.99 account fees. Have sent 3 emails no reply’s. Absolutely frustrating and waste of time.

Slow process, impolite customer services

Ain’t getting my refund yet for account closing, as they promise will get in touch with me within one day, but end up I’m the one keep contacting with them, still not getting refund and I will also need to pay for a premium member in order to Transfer back my money from bunq into bank account? What a joke! Hello I’m closing the account bro

Hello, We are not sure to understand what your issue is. If you would like to withdraw all the money you have on your Travel bunq account you can do it from the app without problem. If you are talking about another type of refund, make sure to let our support team know about it with all the necessary details and they will be able to assist you. 👍

Useless

The app is practically useless.
I keep asking for a code and it’s never sent to me.
Now I’m locked out because I maxed out on the attempts.
How am I supposed to access the app now????

Don’t bother

Canadian residents can’t sign up. But they’ll let you download the app, upload your passport photo and so on, and only at the end they’ll tell you “Sorry you can’t sign up”. What a waste of time! And now my passport is in some database waiting for the next major data breach. Great.

App is annoying

Have to manually downgrade membership if you don’t want to stay on bunq premium else they will automatically charge your account and keep you on premium if you don’t

Also have to manually request your cards that come with the premium membership, they won’t send them out.
