New App
Can’t get the new app connected . The old app was working smoothly it’s a nightmare to connect.
Powerful
There is nothing close to Cielo when it comes to managing heating and cooling to exactly how you want given any set of factors.
I do have one request though. A lot of places change seasons and it would be great if Cielo would have custom temperature profiles, for example, ability to create Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter (or Very Hot, Hot, Warm, Cold, Very Cold) profiles. Sometimes there may be dramatic changes in temperature week to week where the previous week settings are not the right settings for this week.

Amazing app. Needs two things
This is really an amazing app so if I could give it 4.5 stars I would. Don’t hesitate to buy these devices if you have mini splits. We have 3 on a multi-zone and so far it is amazing.
I did have an issue with it recognizing my remote model on setup automatically so it would turn off but not on. Once I went in and manually configured and chose the correct model it worked perfectly.
Here’s a few things I wish the app did.
1) Ability to create your own custom presets. Home, Away, and Sleep are the basics but others could be helpful.
2) Need to have temp ranges or presets or something be able to change with the season. In the summer my comfortable temp range is definitely different than in the winter.
3) Ability to share schedules across devices or copy at least instead of having to recreate the schedule from scratch each time.
Other than those things this app does everything you would want it to do and these thermostats are worth every penny for mini split owners especially. Nice job Cielo team!

Geolocation and schedule logic are useless
Cielo gets credit for emulating the controllers for our mini split air handlers well. The app and devices are a huge improvement and provide true remote control.
That said, if you’re looking for a seamless smart thermometer that handles presence/awareness well (like Nest or Mysa), this is not the solution. Leaving or entering a geofence will enable an event but if you have a schedule set it will be overridden. Until you open the app again. And there’s no way to disable an entire schedule manually (would have to disable each scheduled event for each device every time you leave it arrive). I haven’t gotten rid of them yet because I’m hoping that it should be an easy software fix to resume schedule upon entering and override on leaving.

New update
The latest update to the latest major release is out, and after a very rocky start for me, they have re-added the ability to disable a schedule. Very important! I’m not sure why they removed that at first and adding it back is great. What they need to do instead of removing the ability to disable the schedule it is improve the schedules. It would be great if you could have schedule groups and be able to enable or disable an entire group. Until that happens, I’m glad I have the ability to disable individual scheduled events again. Thank you! I increased my rating from 2 to 4 stars.

New update removed needed feature
The old app had a clunky way of handling different schedules for different seasons. It was not pretty, but it worked. The new update dropped that capability because of “simplicity and usability.” (Development question… why remove a weak feature instead of improving it?) Now the app can only handle one set of schedules at a time. When the weather warms up I’ll have to remove the winter schedules and add back the summer schedules. Then remember the winter schedules to switch back 6 months later. What a pain!
Cielo has always been very responsive and the few issues I’ve had were addressed quickly. Let’s hope they fix this quickly too!
Until then, can I have the old version back please?!

Latest update is a mess!
With this recent update, it’s impossible to turn on or off a scheduled program : the little blue switch of each program is gone. The only way I found to turn on a program is to delete it entirely and to create it again. What a waste of time. It worked so well before today! Please fix this major annoyance… thank you!

Anyone over 45 will have difficulty with the font and the contrast
The app works great but I know three other people that are using it and they can’t see the words to switch the fan speed because the colors brighter than the font and the font is way too small compared to the screen size not a complaint just a suggestion.
Great solution, tweaky app
I purchased this thermostat to control two separate mini splits that heat and cool my house. Using central thermostat was super important to making my system work. But there are times when the app updates that it disrupts the functionality of the overall system. It’s mostly great, but occasionally my heat doesn’t turn off when it’s meant to. Thankfully, I’m usually home when it happens and I can catch it. And it doesn’t happen that often. But it makes trusting the system difficult overall. For the 95% of the time that it works I love it. for the 5% of the time that it doesn’t I don’t trust it.

Frustrating
The IOS app randomly stops working from the phone in “comfy mode” and even with wifi connect / disconnect and force closing and restarting the app it sometimes fixes and sometimes ignores it. Imagine this happening in the middle of the night where it’s 100 degrees outside and you wake up to an 80+ degree bedroom and the app not responding you have to find the original remote.
Terribly frustrating unreliable that this happens multiple times per day. After force closing fails I have to go into a sub “Comfy” setting like day or nigh and change settings to it as hat’s sometimes seems to help reconnect the app to the Cielo device to turn the unit back on.
If I didn’t urgently need this functionality I would have thrown it into the trash.
