  • inconsistent motion tracking

This app is supposed to make my workouts more convenient, but it has the opposite effect. I am constantly interrupting my workout to fuss with my Apple Watch because it’s not tracking my reps. For example, I did 5 squats, but it only logged 3. Very annoying.

The app does not seem to give me rest time between reps, even though I have rest times set up in the workout.

There are a good selection of workouts in the library, but you have to sign up with another service in order to see a video of how to perform each exercise. Another inconvenience since there are dozens of variations of squats, for example, and it’s quite time consuming to find the one I want.

  • Stopped working

Love the app. It’s a bit clunky, but it does exactly what I want it to do… except that a few days ago it stopped working and I can’t find anything about it online. No website, no social media, nothing. Tried submitting a trouble ticket through the app… nothing.

I can’t create routines or update what workouts are on my watch and I’m afraid to try uninstalling and reinstalling because if I can’t log back in, then I’m out all of my workouts I’ve been creating over the past couple of years.

Hoping to get a response though here, because my membership renews in a couple of days and as of right now, I’m going to be looking for a new app.

  • Best app out there when it works. Unfortunately it goes days without working.

I have been using this app as my main workout app for 5 years. I love the customization, the watch app telling you next thing to do and heart rate. And the tracking and easy of changing a workout, set or rep.

Unfortunately, there are periods when it just does not work. This year I have had 2-3 times where the app opens but nothing works. Log out and back in and says server issues.

If you like to workout daily and your app you use to track these workouts decides to stop working for 2-5 days straight, it becomes frustrating. When this happens more then a few times, it’s unacceptable. So this week I will look for anther app and build my workouts in that app. Thank you for a great 5 years but time to move on. . .

  • Terrible app

In theory, this is a great app, but in practice it is terrible. It counts reps while I’m running, instead of just looking at the time. Sometimes it just doesn’t start counting reps. Other times it starts me off on a different machine while I am walking to my next machine. I just upgraded my Apple Watch, and thought it would get better., But it is much much worse. Everything lags so much, that it is unusable.

And the only thing worse than the app is the customer service. I sent two emails, with no response. Do not get this app. Maybe it works with other devices, but not with an Apple Watch.

  • New Registration Req'd

I've been using this app for years, and I've really been liking it. Today, I open it up and can't use it without registering for an account, which does collect data according to the terms of service and privacy policy. Both documents also state that registration is *optional*, but the registration screen cannot be bypassed, so the app is no longer usable. All of my old workouts are now inaccessible.

  • Thought I found THE App

Got excited but first use already started giving frustration. I see others give same complaints. It will NOT remember the workouts you have entered. The next day again it prompts you to “teach” it what workout you are doing. You work out hard and it only registers part of your workout reps. Some it simply doesn’t record at all. No record you did the workout. If you slow down, the app thinks you have taken a break and starts a second set even though you are still in the same one set. I tried for several days, contacted app creators thee times. Today I give up and delete the App.

  • Perfect Gym companion

Been using it over past two days for upper body workouts, around 12 different exercises over the two days. Quite pleased. The first time you do an exercise (from the extensive database list), it will learn and store your motions, so it’s gets more accurate in its rep counts based on your moves. I have now configured it exactly how I want to and I find the rep count highly accurate.

  • Still needs work on watch interface.

I have used this off and on the last 3-4 years. There has been some considerable improvements. But I still feel there is a lack of available workout exercises in it’s library and at times it doesn’t synch well.

I would like to have more control in how I can share my info on social media. And I wish it can partner with food tracking apps like My fitness so I can really focus on my overall health.

  • Very glitchy and doesn’t work right!

This app is not reliable at all. Half the time it will not log workout from Apple Watch to app, “can’t upload file that doesn’t exist locally.” Get to the end of the work out and it will glitch and erases the entire workout. When building your own workout, it will decide the name for the specific exercise is an error and won’t except it even if you use the name given by the app. Just had a lot of problems and doesn’t work right. UPDATE, deleted the app from Apple Watch and phone and reinstalled to see if it would work properly, now it won’t install back to Apple Watch.

  • Option to buy

I’ve found the free version of the Gymatic app very useful. In fact it is my number one app when I use the total gym. And it does justify a monthly subscription for me, and maybe many others. If there was a option to buy without a subscription then I would be the first in line.
