Kept Me Accountable
I have been using this app since January. I saw people on Reddit saying it was good and they had a promotion for like half off a year subscription. So I took the plunge. I love it. It’s the thing that had kept me in the gym this year because it helps me see results. I love how it syncs with my watch and I can input the weight and reps on my watch or phone. I appreciate that it supplies workouts for different splits so I don’t need to pay for a trainer. I love how it holds the last rep and weight from the previous time I did the exercise so I can work towards improving weight or reps. I love how it tracks my workouts and all the data it supplies. I am obsessed that it will track your rest time when you complete a set and play a tone to tell you rest is over. It will also play this tone over the music or as a buzz on your Apple Watch to do another set. (There are times it doesn’t work but mostly it does). It also provide nice visual tutorials of doing the exercise with some copy as well. I do wish it walked me though how to measure myself better but that’s a VERY small negative to truly nothing but positives I have. I also don’t use the social piece too much but I have taken some other people’s workouts just to switch it up every once and a while. I will be renewing next year 100%Show lessBest tracking app for weightlifting/exercise
I searched for a while for an app that meets all of my needs in one place. It’s this. You can track every exercise you do, there is a library full of exercises to choose from. The library is awesome, each exercise has what muscle is being worked and how to execute the exercise. The tracking is awesome, when you go to the next week’s exercise, it will show you what you did last so you don’t lose track. Your notes for each exercise carry over too. It tracks your improvement over time, even the new goals you reach, and how much volume lifted for that day. You have a calendar to see what days and when you’ve exercised. There’s a small social media platform built into it to follow other people for inspiration or for them to follow you and make friends to cheer each other on. You can even log other types of exercises. You can track your weight and measurements to see your progress and post pictures as you evolve. Overall, it’s perfect. Don’t change a thing! Thanks to the creators of this for making such a user-friendly, comprehensive, and awesome app!Show lessAll the features w/ ease of use!
I’ve tried all the workout apps, and this one by far has had the best support, with the most features, but is still simple to use. The Apple Watch integration updates simultaneously between the app and your watch in real time. Which makes it so much easier to record reps and sets. I didn’t think I would use the Apple Watch feature much but now I can’t imagine not using it.
Using, or setting up your own, routines is so simple compared to other apps I’ve used. You can do it on your device, or on a desktop PC. I’ve done both and it’s equally as effective and easy.
It does communicate and record to Apple Health and Fitness app, as long as you give it permission. This is where I have my only constructive feedback. If you pause your workout in the Hevy app (which is useful and frequently necessary) Apple’s Health app still thinks you’re working out and records workout minutes until you completely end your workout. Fix that and it’s the perfect app! (of course that could be an Apple ecosystem issue and have nothing to do with Hevy)Show less
