Terrible

I am trying to transpose music, and figured that this app would come in handy. So I downloaded it, and after finding a video, I try to go further ahead and then I get a message that says something like, “45 second limit reached. Upgrade to premium to listen longer!” That is so stupid! What is the point in even downloading the app if I can hardly even listen to the soundtrack without paying money!?!? This app is just money hungry and of no good use to me. I haven’t even had this app 10 minutes, and it’s already gone from my phone. Lift the time limit, and then maybe I’ll come back.

Great when it works.

Purchased the full version but unfortunately as time goes on less and less tracks will now load. I get an error message when trying to load them with no explanation. The app will be useless soon.
I will not re new the agreement when is comes around. All the songs with errors load perfectly in my other apps.

Great app, responsive developer

An excellent simplified version of something like seventhstring’s Transcribe!

I love that it imports videos. It makes it really easy to transcribe music recorded with camera or screen-capture (my primary use-case)

I asked the developer to add fine tuning control to correct for non-440 hz audio and they updated the app in less than a week. Good stuff.

Not for classical music

Won’t isolate individual instruments. Bummer

Update: I’m giving 4 stars now instead of 1 because it turns out this is an impossible task at the moment. However, there is a feature where it allows you to choose “L” or “R” which seems to be like choosing a speaker - this helped us hear the cello part a little easier. At the very least it would be nice to have the ability to adjust treble and bass; it might make it even easier.

Good but annoying layout

I use this for music transcription - it’s fine! But the amount of times I’ve gone to press play and tapped 0.5 cm above the play button, accidentally hitting the long timeline and skipping to a different part of the song and losing my spot = too many!

- A low traffic touch-sensitive long-timeline should be positioned away from a high traffic touch-sensitive play button on a touchscreen interface

Otherwise this does the job!
I’m on a 12.9inch iPad Pro. I imagine this issue would be annoying on smaller screens

Pay after 45sec?

Downloaded the app played a track to test app and said 45sec is up and had to pay. Nah lost me already. I’ll stick to something that’s worth while like fl studio

Apple just killed your app

Apple just killed your app. It doesn’t work anymore as of OS 10.4.1. It will only loop.

Response from developer

Update: Speed control is back! Please update to iOS 15.5 to use access it. Non DRM tracks still work as they always did. This is a change with iOS 15.4. Apple has removed the ability for changing the speed of any Apple Music tracks. Unfortunately this is out of our control and we will be making changes to the app UI while Apple Music tracks are loaded to make it clear that speed changing is no longer an option. DRM free tracks can of course still access all of the features of Transcribe+

Worth the price for how easy it is to use!

I’ve tried Anytune, and although apps like those are great for transcriptions, they are very limited in terms of what types of audio you can import.
This app has little to no limitations besides the iCloud limitation, which is completely understandable since it’s the law. However, you can literally import any audio that is directly on your device whether if it’s in your camera roll on in a file. It’s so awesome!

I’d say for how much your getting, it is much better than spending a monthly payment on other apps. Prior to this app, I used Anytune, but once I switched to this app, there is literally nothing better that you can get on your iPhone.

Handy app

If your like me, and you just don’t have the ear and ability to be able to pick up a fast complex vocal or guitar track, this is the key ! Simple and effective to use .

Isolation flaw

The main reason I was interested in this app was it’s ability to isolate out the vocals, bass, drums and instrumentals. When that function is used to only play instrumentals, the sound quality of the remaining instruments (guitar in this case) begins to deteriorate as the other stems are removed until it gets to the point where it becomes barely recognizable. Even though everything else works well, I can’t justify paying to upgrade to the full version because of this flaw.
