  • Medical Care and billing

I received excellent medical care from Mercy. However! Their methods of billing are awful. If you didn’t have high blood pressure when you walked in, you will have when they show you the bill before the appointment even starts. And if you have multiple appointments bills come flying in. I don’t understand why those bills aren’t forwarded to the insurance company for review before they are collated by Mercy so that one bill may be sent to the patient perhaps per business quarter. I have a $6000. Annual out of pocket maximum policy and if I had paid every bill I’ve seen on the My Mercy app. I would have passed the max by a lot. Managing your health is only half of the chore. Managing your cost seems to also be on the patient.

  • Very helpful with navigating your medical stuff

This app is a big help when it comes to getting around your medical info. It has the usual summary and details that the regular MyMercy (Epic’s MyChart) plus more.

I downloaded it and used it on some appointments. As someone who would rather just get things done without having to spend a lot of time talking to a bunch of different people, especially about personal issues, this app was a big help. It let me do the bulk of the normal check in stuff on my phone. Since my appointment was in Mercy’s new Center for Performance Medicine, I had no idea where anything was. The app helped me get around the building and find where I needed to be. I don’t usually bother to rate a lot of apps, but health care can be a pain. I’m happy to find anything that helps.

  • Mercy My Chart

I am accustomed to using My Chart in the Kettering Network in Ohio. This chart does not give you the information you need in a timely manner, nor does it give you complete information. Blood work should be on there as soon as it's complete. Graphic chart of the last 10 test results; such as eGFR results so you can see your kidney function, lipids, etc. When I click any Dr., I see for care it brings up future appt. and all past appointments with notes. Kettering is a software powered by Epic as well as Mercy so I know more information is available. I was asked at my last medical appointment if I wanted the paper printout; I should have taken it its still not available. I am very disappointed in the underutilization of this software.

  • Needs investigation

I was sent by ambulance to Mercy Hospital due to respiratory failure and heart problems. I woke up after being intubated for two weeks and they didn’t even have my name down. Didn’t know who I was supposedly I had Covid. I did not have Covid. The doctors there are very unprofessional, one doctor even walked out during his shift. I was treated the worst. It’s like a zoo not a hospital. I have so much more. I would love to write, but this place needs to be under investigation for what they done to me especially the doctors and nurses they need to be drug tested as well on regular basis, even try to find out what happened to me and the lady in the ER that I was admitted told me the paramedic family on the side of the road. My daughter called the ambulance for me at 2 o’clock in the morning to say the least out of there, they call the police claiming I had an IV which I did not, but they couldn’t call the police when I was supposedly dying, but somehow my kids got notified, even though they never came to visit me when I was intubated my other kids another that I wasn’t gonna make it, but I did and now I’m ready to tell my story

  • Poor design, bad responsiveness and frustratingly problematic

There are some basic functions that this app handles to an extent: seeing scheduling and test results for example, is quite capable. But scheduling new services, communicating with healthcare professionals like your PCP and other functions that this app needs, are all poor experiences at best. Often times I find myself being directed off the App for one reason or another (to the website) - the interfaces are old and stale, though recently they did get a touch up that made them marginally better. It feels like they need to retool this application to do a few things really well rather than trying to be the web portal on an app, which doesn’t work with the way it’s coded.

Also - text messaging with health professionals means dealing with text decorum - which is to say, either Mercy needs to train their physicians to communicate more clearly and kindly on their app, or they need to turn on voice recording to the app so doctors and patients can have conversations properly. I imagine the doctors wouldn’t mind being able to say responses rather than type them, and patients would be able to understand tonality and inflection in voices rather than texts.

  • Everything I need to manage my healthcare.

I don’t often write a review, but after using this app for a while I had to. Having access to my medical records with a touch of a button has been very helpful. I can see all my labs and I don’t have to wait around for the nurse to call with results. I can schedule appointments on here too. I have even been able to email back and forth with my doctor, nurses and office staff in this app. This seems to be a very effective way to communicate, possibly better. I can reach out, go about my day and get notified through the app when they get back to me. No more waiting on hold with the office only for them to tell me a nurse will call me later.

  • Room for improvement

So I got a call today to schedule an MRI. The caller seemed disinterested and just reading from a script. I was determined not to carry the dialogue so there were several moments of uncomfortable silence. A personality on her part would have been appreciated. She has the answers, take the lead in the conversation. I must tell you that I sense too many disconnects in the Mercy System. For example, when was your last Colonoscopy? Shouldn’t you have that info pulled up? I can’t remember exactly. Are you allergic to blah, blah, Again shouldn’t you have my info pulled up? I may remember and I may not…I’m old and forgetful, but you have access to my info given when my memory was much better. I have an excellent Doctor in the Mercy system…info is all there. Something seems to be lost when you’re passed from Doctor to Doctor without thorough study of medical records. I know it’s not easy, but it’s important.

  • It Saves Time; You Can Keep Your Records At Your Fingertips

Sometimes you save a little time; sometimes you save a lot of time by using this app to check in before you arrive. It’s also great to be able to e-mail your doctors and nurses to ask small questions. Having your medical records close at hand is a great thing, too.
I wish someone would fix a glitch in the app, though: in the e-check-in, there are a few questions that you always have to answer (about Medicare and whether your doctor’s appointment is because of an injury and so forth— you have to answer these EVERY time you check in). But the app will NEVER take your answer choices until you’ve tried to submit your answer about a dozen times. It is maddening. You choose the answer you want, then you submit the page, and the answer shows blank again. It happens over and over until something magical convinces the app to keep the answer you want, and you can move on to the NEXT answer the app has refused to record.

Would someone please fix this problem?

  • My Mercy

I love this app! You don’t have to wait for the doctor to have time to call with results, you can see them as soon as they’re available. You can look back on any visit yo read notes in case you forgot something or were sick or overwhelmed and not comprehending everything at the time. You can see any upcoming labs or appointments that are scheduled. You can also compare old tests with new results if you have an ongoing condition. It’s just full of information that you can’t get just by going to the doctor and leaving. Everything is at your fingertips.

  • Mercy Health Care

I am not enjoying answering the same questions over and over. You need to add options to your app! Three times I’ve told you I don’t want to change my appointment. stop offering me new times. Give me the option to say don’t contact me again I’m keeping my existing appointment. I shouldn’t have to do that. Once I say, keep the appointment you should be able to figure that out that I don’t want to change it. Especially when I said it with a live person. You can also stop sending me reminders through the app, plus calling me and sending me letters about test that I’m not going to have. Remember it’s my choice because it’s my body. There are limits you should honor. It’s not about your revenue streams. It’s about me living my life to the fullest without as much medication as I can
