Functional, but not user friendly
The app has some useful tools, but figuring out how to find/use them is a mess. Once you get it figured out, you quickly realize you need more. 5 waypoints is far too few. An option to loop time-lapses would suffice. Motion tracking seems useless on my end(cellphone and DSLR); too shaky and unreliable. Please add MORE WAYPOINTS and ALLOW APP TO RUN IN BACKGROUND/PHONE LOCKED. This is the most useful tool with the Cranes/Gimbals, but it just lacks in the details.Show lessmnmetalsmith

Resolution changes on its own.
Great gimbal and app is on and off, sometimes works great and sometimes just doesn’t listen haha, goes on in directions sometimes when I’m recording, and most annoying it changes it resolution to 720p and i don’t realise till i have recorded everything and it just changes on it own. I record in 1080p or 4K so there is a big difference with quality. Not the best.Show lessBabylov10k
Dollie Zoom gone? No, just bug ridden.
After buying the premium little gimbal based on seeing zoom mentions and dollie zoom I was stressed to not see it in the new app version. After much searching I discovered a bug. It’s mislabeled as “Vertigo” (time : values) in the Motion Time Lapse modes menu. I saw a video that showed as Dollie Zoom (time : specs) and tested it, sure enough there was the auto dollie zooming.
Frustrating web a company can build a quality gimbal but blows it being sloppy on the app. I’ve found several other bugs in the app switching between Normal Camera and Other camera mode.
Zhiyun, please fix your app. It could be great... to match the q2 gimbal.
Suggestion, you could easily offer Zoom in/out with the joy stick when in Lock mode and possibly others since you have an unused axis.Show lessLong in the tooth...
Glitches
Every time I need to change the scene mode I have to turn off my weebill lab and turn it back on before it has any effectoven.king
Weebill Lab has been removed
I upgraded my iOS and removed and reinstalled this app only to see that Weebill Lab no longer listed as an option :( only the latest Weebill S.fergalicioud
Truly a disappointing user experience.
The UI is awful. Whoever designed and approved it really need to reassess what they’re trying to do.
Even when you manage to figure out how to do what you want to do, it’s a total crapshoot if it will work.
Tracking? Flip a coin. I have a jet black subject against well lit, light backgrounds and it will break free and freak out constantly. No real way to say, track yourself either. Since you need to touch the screen to create a box around the subject.
Motion time lapse? The duration and “interval” settings are not only non-sensual, they do not properly calculate the clip at all. Either record the clip at its actual length, and or the nearest “time lapse” speeds things up exponentially. Can’t create a 1 minute recording time lapse that’s anything but 1 minute finished clip, or a suuuuper fast 4 seconds. Illogical, broken and a shame.
It’s nearing half a year and no iPhone 11 updates either.
It’s a shame. There’s so much potential with the Smooth 4 and a lot of ZY hardware in general, but it’s quite seriously crippled by awful, nearly non-supported software.
Open up the hardware and let third parties handle every aspect of your gimbals, please. The stabilization word would be better for it.Show lessSnakeXs
Keeps resetting resolution to 720p
Twice now I’ve been filming 4K on holiday to find that after taking a time lapse or mo lapse the resolution resets to 720p! Really annoying as it ruins all that good footage I’ve taken! I shouldn’t need to keep checking the res every time I switch between modes, and the app really should make the current resolution clearer on all modes to avoid those kinds of problems. Work to do
This app randomly crashes. Video from phone ( iPhone 7)works fine , use it through this app then save to file the video will not open. Should have an option to save direct to camera roll . I used adobe media encoder to convert file and can open successfully but it’s a pain and could be do good, the gimbal is great and I want to persevere but my patience is running thin.😡Show lessnottusnittam-
Won’t recommend this gimbal because of their terrible app
Using the Smooth Q2 with this app. The first hurdle will be updating the app otherwise your gimbal will not work properly .
Second, using an iPhone 11 - while recording photo or video, it will store your footage on the app. You have to save it manually to your native iPhone photo by selecting all files, however when it saves on your phone, it messes up ALL the time and date of the footage files. This makes editing videos difficult because the sequences are wrong.
Better off not using the app, but some functions will not work. This gimbal is highly dependent on the app so even though the gimbal is great, the overall performance is a failure for me - Wish the company hired better software engineers.
Currently looking for a third party software. I wouldn’t recommend this gimbal just because of the app.Show lessecorescue
