  • Glitches resolved!

I am updating my review from 3 to 5 stars! The first time I used this app on my iPad it glitched several times out so I wrote a crappy review. I thought I would give it another shot and no more glitches!!! I have done 3 amazing cycling workouts since with ZERO issues of the app stopping. Thank you Wellbeats for fixing the issue and providing top notch workouts. I am hooked!

I just completed my first class on Wellbeats. It stopped twice during a 20 minute long workout so I had to reboot the class and scroll to where it stopped. The workout itself was very good, but the stopping was frustrating. Then when I finished the app showed I only worked out for 4 minutes total even though I completed the entire workout. I was using the app on my iPad but may switch to logging in to their site on my computer next time to see if that is better.

  • Well, it beats me up-in a good way

I’ve tried them all but this is my favorite. I tried better me and thought it was silly. I constantly had to touch a timer when I was done with an exercise. Some of Wellbeats classes beat my you-know-what in 25 minutes! I feel like I worked out for an hour! I like their circuits too where it shows the exercise continuously with a voiceover. Live classes too. Out of all of them, this app is my favorite.

  • Worst app ever

This is the worst app I’ve ever had the misfortune to install. It’s very obviously been built by an outsourced development team with no UX knowledge and has clearly never seen any part of the QA lifecycle. This isn’t even alpha release quality.

No part of the app is useable, no part of the app works correctly. I couldn’t even leave a review of a workout as the keyboard blocked the submit button with no way to close the keyboard or scroll the page underneath.

The workouts that I’ve tried have all been horrifyingly American with all dialogue delivered dizzyingly fast without time for you to get a grip on an exercise before they’ve infuriatingly moved onto the next. On top of the mile-a-minute instructions you’re also supposed to read tiny bullet points that appear on the screen as well as also staying on top of the commentary and also, at some point, presumably, doing the exercise. All while stopping to squint at your phone since it can’t stream to a smart TV.

I’ve seen better workout programmes on YouTube, and at least I can stream those to my TV.

  • Works great for me!

Our building gym converted its format and got rid of live classes. As a replacement, they installed a big TV with wellbeats in the studio. It took some getting used to but after a year and a half, I’ve gotten to take about 100 different classes and purchased app for personal use. I don’t have any glitches and was thrilled to see the addition of the download. That will really help when the TV is being used and I want to do my own thing or go for a run. This is helping keep our family’s sanity during quarantine!

  • App keeps freezing

The workouts are great but I can’t even get through a workout without the app crashing or freezing.
  • Dissatisfying all around

I had a dissatisfying experience with this all around but my chief complaint is with glitches in the built in video interface. Over the course of a 50 minute workout, it closed randomly at least 5 times. When it would close, it would not keep my place forcing me to have to hunt for where I left off. I even downloaded the video to try to avoid issues with streaming and internet connectivity but it still happened.

Apart from that, there was very little instruction which lead to me doing more watching than working but I recognize that this could be an instructor specific issue.

However, the combination will result in me not returning.

    Developer Response

Thanks for trying Wellbeats, we're sorry the app was not being stable for you. We've done a lot of work to improve the app's stability over the past two versions, and we'd love it if you'd give us another shot. In regards to the complexity of movements - keep in mind that we are trying to hit that sweet spot between a workout being complex enough to stay interesting in the long run, while still being approachable. I would suggest trying different types of classes and different instructors.
  • No idea if it's good - can't login

Despite being a member and being able to login on the website and book classes etc., this crappy app doesn't recognise my email/password - when I asked for a password reminder it tells me I'm not a member.......
