I am new to drones but I can clearly see this app needs improved. It has features that don't work at all and settings that you have no idea what they are unless you call and ask. Like a setting called Offloading. It lacks an important feature. No flight recording on your device. If you loose your drone the flight recorded info is on the lost drone and not with you where it could be of use. Don't get me wrong I love this drone so far but the app is pretty far behind the other guys. I could see that being a reason someone would choose the other guy's product over the X Star Premium.Show lessMiracle Whip
Excellent as is, looking forward to seeing updates
As it is this app is great. I am just getting started with my Xstar Premium and it has everything I need.
A few items that I would like to see in future updates are a sensitivity control for horizontal rotation or yaw, as well as the ability to adjust the speed of orbit missions...4 mph is nice and smooth when the orbit radius is large, but not when it is relatively tight.Show lessJimmy Joe Jones
Needs a bit of work
Generally a stable App and flies my drone accurately. Waypoint Map isn't precise, especially considering it is designed to work on iPhone. Also missing some program features that should have been no-brainers. Example, you cant move the drone to a waypoint and film any direction but towards next waypoint. Needs to be done w/ sticks otherwise a good fit for x-star.Show lessDDay41

This app is great the bird is great I hope they fix the slight drift issue when moving forward or back the phantoms stop on a dime you have around 75 plus feet of drift before reversing and so on but I love mine and I'm sure this will be fixed with a firmware upgrade very easy and integrated app love it as wellShow lessNytis
Great app...needs work though
Okay, so I've been using this app for a few months. I've had a chance to use it in every facet.
While it performs well with my iPad mini 3 and iPhone SE, it overloads older devices like the gen 1 iPad mini. The lag becomes dangerous, but please keep in mind the older devices are the cause. The just can't cut the mustard.
It is a great app, but like most apps it needs some quirks and kinks worked out. The company (Autel Robotics) is currently working as hard as they can to revamp this app with streaming capabilities, and working out the quirks. One of the biggest and most annoying bugs in this app/drone firmware is the Go Home due to low battery cannot be cancelled. This can be a major problem when it would be in your best interest to fly the craft home manually. Especially if you need to avoid some sort of obstacle in the flight path.
All in all, it's a great app, I would recommend it to a friend. Learn to work around the bugs and you'll be fine.Show lessAnonymousAsCanBe
Nice app
I like the app but not all of the functions work (media) etc.
I read the manual 3 times and was unable to get them working. I contacted customer support and was told by the tech that some of the icons on the screen were for future use. I would suggest information like this be put in the manual. Other than that, I love the drone and the app. It's a ball!!!!Show lessLewispeak
Awesome App! One request!
This is a very intuitive app. Very easy and self explanatory! I have one request that I think would improve the orbit mode. It would be helpful if once we set our radius, a circle would appear on the map indicating the drone's flight path. It would be good to see where it would be going so you could see if you were going to hit anything. Thanks!Show lessTanner55Tman66
Good App
The app includes many features than can help you control your X-Stat real easily. It starts you on beginner mode to make sure you aren't carried away and fly it over the FAA limit. Make sure you read the rules before disabling beginner mode in the settings. I love the live feed and the fact that you have control on the camera settings. Almost every feature can be adjusted at your liking and it's also open source. Great app and great product. 10/10 would recommend since it is better than a Phantom 3 Pro and up to par with the Phantpm 4.Show lessTirabuzon34
Solid app and works perfectly
This version of the app is stable and works perfectly on my iPhone 6 and my iPad mini 4 to control my X-Star Premium. There are other reviews complaining of the download time to their iPad, but those files are being transmitted over a radio link and are very large, so be patient! ;) I can't wait to see what else Autel builds into this software platform. For a first generation product from a new company, I am incredibly impressed with the quality and the attention to detail they put into everything. The X-star series is no toy!Show lessSuper H Dog
Good basic control app for the X-star
Just added this app to my iPad mini 4 a few days ago and am overall happy with this early version of their control app.
For this perhaps comparing this to the DJI GO! App, no it's not as polished and debugged. It also hasn't had the development cycles and installed user base at this point. I've flown a handful of flights so far and it does the job it needs to but also look forward to the improvements and added features down the road.
No crashes here, a few odd spurious beeps when buttons are clicked but nothing that causes a problem at this point.Show lessMarcHufnagel
