Absolutely worth $70 USD (a textbook costs just as much)
I’ve been trying to learn Korean since 2007. I’ve tried to keep all my expenses low, buying from discount bookstores and receiving free books from my in-laws. Setting out books every day was hard, so I did a little better with LingoDeer and Drops, but my efforts still weren’t consistent despite myself.
It was different with Eggbun. I couldn’t wait for more lessons to be unlocked. The free version gave me a taste of what was waiting for me behind the paywall: I can pick up my phone at any time to learn a short lesson with Lanny. I’m not sure why, but learning via a chatbot just makes it so much easier to continually learn.
I can put in a small effort at any time. If I’m interrupted and can’t finish a short lesson, restarting it doesn’t feel like a detriment. It’s been 16 days since I’ve unlocked the full subscription and I’ve used Eggbun almost every day. Even when I miss a day, it isn’t hard to pick the app up again.
My only critique would be that the audio is sporadic. Sometimes it will sound when I type a sentence (which I appreciate). Sometimes not. Listening to the native speaker repeat back what I typed is incredibly useful, so if this could be the next debug, I’d greatly appreciate it.Show lessNo GRE required

Eggbun is a great resource for anyone that wants to learn Korean. The user interface is intuitive and the lessons are engaging! I’ve learned more with Eggbun than I did with Rosetta Stone and I couldn’t be happier with my premium purchase.
I love that Eggbun has a community page where you can chat with others and practice the words and phrases you’ve been learning. I’ve only been using Eggbun for two weeks but I am already starting to understand words in k-pop songs and k-dramas.

My friend and I are learning korean together and we decided to learn on this app and wow!! It has really helped a lot and now we can say some phrases! I love how we can type out the words and Eggbun grades it! Nice app and also a big compliment on the Japanese one. Pay To Learn
I enjoy the UI, and needing to type to pass lessons helps improve language skills, however, the time gate frequently bugs out, and makes progress frustrating. I am only 10 lessons into the program after many months of using the app. The chat function is novel at first but has reduced repeat value, and if a lesson doesn’t ‘unlock’ after the 24 hour period, repeating doesn’t help much. 1 lesson per month when the app claims to be one lesson per day is just a trap to frustrate you into spending $$ as others have mentioned.Show lessTinyYeti
Family Sharing does not work
I’m unsatisfied with the app. I paid for premium, because it says that it supports family sharing. But only the free version is shareable. I bought the app thinking that I could share the premium access with my kids, but it does not work. I now have premium access but my kids only have free access. I think the premium access is too expensive for it to not be shareable with my family.Show lessellabella1027

When I first started to use Eggbun, it wasn't confusing at all! There's no ads interrupting your way of learning a new language. It'll allow you to choose which part would you like to start first! I'd recommend using Greetings first if you're thinking of traveling to Korea soon so that you can know the difference between formality and informality. Also, Eggbun! When I first sat Egg bun, I was interested in the idea of chatting and learning. I was tired of Duolingo, and egg-bun, was it! It has lots of fun ways and notes to learn, and you can adjust chat speed! Most apps don’t get you to actually write in Korean, but this app teaches you to learn where the characters are placed on the keyboard. It is so fun to learn with this app!!Show lessJacksonEug
Love the app but latest update isn’t working!
I absolutely love this app and have learned a lot from it so far, however each time I go to open the app since the new update, it freezes. Not sure if it’s just me that is experiencing this. Otherwise I recommend this app 100%. I’ve even turned a few people on to it and they agree - it’s unique and efficient AND effective! Love it. Keep up the good work.Show lessstormerkingdom
I have a question!
First of all, I want to express how impressed I am with Eggbun! Even though with my current circumstances, I can’t afford premium, the free lessons have taught me more in five minutes than I retained in two months before Eggbun. The interactive chat box/Lanny is the best approach I’ve found so far to help me learn, and makes me feel confident in what I’m learning.
Because these lessons are so awesome, I was excited to see that a new free lesson would unlock every 24 hours—but I must have misunderstood what it said in that app. Can you please clarify what it means when it says “next free lesson available in 24 hours,” and how I can access a new free lessons everyday? Eggbun is so good, I use it all the time. It is much better than Duolingo because you can go over a certain lesson that you might not understand. It also goes slowly so you can definitely understand and learn along with it. I highly recommend using it! I teaches you both how to write it and read it. It also teaches you more than just the language it teaches you things about the culture such as: foods, holidays and even myths.Show less13lbo
