444 dollars no matter what is to expensive
Hey I’m new to cad but I’ve been using fusion 360 and decided to get a app to use while on the go so I decided to use this app which worked quite well especially if your a beginner but at the end of exporting my design it held me at gun point with a pay wall of 444 dollars I decided against (obviously) paying this yearly subscription it only let me export in low quality which after getting it on to my 3d printer software I found it looked nothing like what I had made the quality was so bad I couldn’t even call it the same model I designed absolutely useless app if you can’t do anything with your model

Best of its kind
I’ve been searching for an app like this all my life. It is intuitive, runs great on an iPad or Mac, and the pencil controls are perfect.
I do wish that they had an Artist or Hobbyist subscription tier that’s priced a bit cheaper (or, on the other hand, a lifetime purchase price which I would gladly pay $$$$ for)—but! This app is worth every penny, and we are all lucky to have it!

Great software being ruined by their pricing.
This software is great for Hobbyists that find themselves interested in 3d printing and modeling. It’s SUPER intuitive and really makes use of my otherwise useless Apple Pencil. As far as I can tell, that’s pretty much their entire market. Any manufacturing site I’ve worked at uses a much more advanced CAD software which has features that this just can’t provide.
That’s pretty much all the good that I have to say about it. The developers have chosen a monthly subscription based business model. This in itself is annoying but not really too problematic. That is, until you consider the price point that they’ve chosen. They’re charging an insane $30 a month. Without paying for this price point, they’ve limited usage to two low poly models. I mean… LOW POLY. They have less curves than 1994 Laura Croft which makes any export pretty much unusable. You’d be better off writing the G-Code by hand.
The really funny thing is that there’s a much better CAD software available for free for hobbyists which features SO MANY more features. I used this app for about 2 years using my student account but have since decided to move on to a better, more affordable solution to my modeling needs.

Awesome software
Really intuitive and easy to work with . Would appreciate a more affordable tier. Awesome work Shapr3D team
Love it but…
We need a price for hobbyists and home user.
Almost There
This app is an amazing and powerful tool, and I enjoy using it. It would be great to be able to add notes outside of the blueprint, and copy an object (or a group of objects) from one project and paste into another, like Photoshop. Huge timesaver. I had to take away a star because it seems like this new parametric update is really ruining a bunch of my projects. Sometimes it randomly just decides it isn’t going to load it correctly this time and it will completely mess up the objects, or they might even be there anymore. Awful to lose work that way. And there is no recourse unless you happened to have exported it previously. And when working on an object (already loaded) it has started randomly messing it up in ways it never did before, AND the undo button does not fix the problem at all. It’s an awful thing when you have put so much time into something to have it ruined and have no way to fix it. UPDATE: It is STILL doing this, however at least now there is an option to revert to a previous version. Still not a good thing to deal with.

Dommage
Vraiment dommage!

Can’t remove the 2d draft
Once the 3d model completed and removing the left over 2 d random lines the 3d model also removed completely. Not really happening in the years ago version. Please fix that
Exceptional
I will say right now, I am not a CAD guru by any means. What experience I have had with CAD packages is that unless its your job and your immersed in it most days then I find it hard to pick up and sustain. But, as an occasional, but at that time, a demanding user, this is second to none. It’s intuitive, it has endless tutorials, allows you to 3d model …. Then … you can render and make your work look awesome, but then …. You can produce detail working drawings too ! It really is a lovely software to learn, I have gotten on so well with this. I use a Mac, and now use an IPad Pro with ease ….. yet I was apprehensive about using an IPad ….. it really is a credit to this company, they have focussed totally on end user ease and use ! Superb, worth every penny …..

No Assembly Support
Without multi part support in assemblies and the ability to mate it’s unusable for anything but the most basic of multi part use cases.
