Amazing experience with iPad and Apple Pencil

This is the only app Iโ€™ve used (Iโ€™ve tried several) where I have been able to actually create something!
The experience on iPad is amazing but not nearly as good with the Windows or Mac app. Navigation and controls are just not intuitive like they are with the iPad.

But since this is a review on the iPad appโ€ฆ itโ€™s pretty close to perfect :)

Amazing

It is a pleasure to work using this application. It makes very easy to visualise my ideas. Thanks

User Friendly CAD System

Shapr3D is amazing. This app is so user friendly. Itโ€™s easier than AutoCAD but has all the features you need to be mobile and create fully functional 3D components for personal or business use. The new history feature makes it easier to go back and make changes/adjustments. I highly recommend this app.

Adjusted to 4* Easier to pick up then most, could improve some

Very expensive, but also pretty good, speaking as someone who started w very limited experience, it is easy to use and powerful. Worth buying if working as a pro. I suggest that they give a middle tier price point for those the little guys who want to dabble and need to export files. I donโ€™t know how i feel about them locking your work without any way to retrieve it except paying super high prices. For that reason i am adjusting this to 4 stars.

Holy cow

Give it a go, you will not regret! if you have used some simple CAD software like SketchUp and cero. This app is the hero! The possibilities are truly endless, in the first couple hours Iโ€™ve modelled houses, battleships, missiles and more! Lol. Curious about what limitations it has? Organic shapes seems to be quite difficult. The price for students like me (not for profit) is very steep, $400. Thatโ€™s just one year. But the free version seems to have all the main stuff. Pair this with a concept drawing app and a model rendering like octanex. And your app has done the thing I thought impossibleโ€ฆ give a iPad a purpose!

Too expensive

Itโ€™s a awesome app, but it is just waaay too expensive, and the free version is pretty much useless. Sucks because it is the only one that Iโ€™ve found that works really good with the Apple Pencil.

Incredible app

I have never been able to think in 3D, and my drawing was pretty bad. This app is a revelation. Simple designs can be made in just a few minutes by almost anyone, and 3D printed a short time later as prototype or even real solution. Easy to render good images of your ideas too with the Visualisation tool. Export to other file formats is excellent so you can send to most manufacturing companies from high end to low end. The new history-based parametric modelling looks incredible giving additional flexibility to go back to an earlier part of the design, make a few changes and have that propagate through.

I use it on Mac and iPad with Pencil. The latter is the best (though a larger iPad is helpful due to the number of tools etc). Iโ€™m looking forward to the VisionPro version!

Compared to Solidworks or Fusion360 this has a much lower learning curve - with some great video resources out there - highly recommended to spend a couple of hours viewing some of these.

Iโ€™d also like to point out the GREAT support. Iโ€™ve only had a couple of questions but these have been answered in less than a couple of hours with positive responses. I pay more for this app than any other, though by other standards not a lot. But itโ€™s simply outstanding and getting better every release.

Phenomenal Software

I started using shapr3d about 8 months ago when i became fed up with fusion 360 constantly crashing. This software is a complete game changer for 3D printing and even sketches for CNC projects from your original 3D design. The new parametric beta brings in some of those features from fusion that allow for quick changes to the model without having to completely redesign something. I purchased an iPad with Apple Pencil a couple months back and it has been my go to device for designing projects with shapr3d.

One feature that would be amazing to see added is having some sort of properties tab similar to fusion that allows you to enter pre-defined measurement values and assign them to your sketch as a you go along. Having the parametric history is very close to that, but still requires you to first define the measurement and doesnโ€™t allow for mass updates like fusion does. Given the ability of the software at this point, i have no doubt we will see something like this in the future.

Keep up the great work and thanks for building an awesome piece of software!
