Why the need for an admin fee
I have been using this app for awhile and it works well and generally I’ve had no problems with it but the one thing I dislike is that is an app on my phone. I am paying with my card and they’re charging admin fee. She’s only 10p but still charging admin fee. To be honest in general, it’s not a bad app.

Needs to good connection to work
Works well when you get a good signal not so good if say you’re in an underground car park with no signal. Seems the app works by logging on to a server to get your data so it doesn’t start up without a signal and when you do get a signal it gets stuck if you tried without a signal. I had to restart my phone to get it to restart. Apart from that it is fine.

I have found Mobon to be a very useful asset when parking in the Southend area. Quick and easy to use. Reminders when time is running out particularly useful

I can’t believe I was so opposed to phone parking I think you can safely say I’m stupid ! It’s so easy , no change needed no queuing needed and simple as ! Also get reminded your time is running low and rebook 👍

5🌟 I love this app. I have pre-loaded all our car details in the app so that when we turn up, we just get the location number, and the nearest usually appears at the top anyway (if you turn on location service whilst using) select the time required from the drop down, choose the car and click pay! It’s so easy! 5🌟
If you know where you are going, you could even have an advanced look on your phone to see whether the car parks are busy or not.
No more having to queue up at a machine and enter all the details etc. etc., whilst the people behind you are tutting, rolling their eyeballs and checking their watches 😏🙄 meanwhile, you are already walking away and enjoying your day 🙂

Mobon & Southend Council
Have been using the app for some time with few issues. However the link between Southend on Sea borough council and the online system has rendered the app useless.
Resetting passwords does nothing except antagonise. You reset your password and try to log in and it doesn’t recognise the new password.
Infuriating system with no one to speak to.

Wrong start time and wrong price
Price for 6h supposed to be £6 something and it said £12 so having to book for 4 and then 2h. The start time was the time I started entering details, which after all the faff, was 6 minutes earlier than I actually submitted. I wasn’t at the car park yet (my friend said do it early as it’s such a pain) so this is annoying.

Constructive app feedback
The app works pretty well to book parking, especially the DVLA integration with number plates
My feedback from using it
1) support iPhone X+ style screens. Sorry there is no excuse not to be now seeing as we are 3 years on. The app looks so bad on modern iPhones when you don’t support the screen size natively
2) for registering an account, it’s really not obvious how to accept the terms. Normally tapping a terms button allows you to read it but the actual check box is on the registration form
3) support password managers. You cannot use a password manager to generate a password on your registration screen. Even iOS’s own password manager did not suggest a password. Many will end up having to pick a less secure password simply because the password manager/generator isn’t easily available

System keeps loosing my details
Over the last 3 months the app keeps losing my details every time I try to use it. Other than than once I re-set it it works fine
All functions worked perfectly
After reading some of what must have been earlier reviews, Southend Council obviously listened and fixed the bugs. I got both an email and text immediately confirming payment and parking. Very happy as where I parked was the best value for money than the other alternative. With prices going up all the time, very reasonable pricing is always welcome.
