Premium taken away (and then got it back!)

Updated review: After reaching out to the devs after my premium account was downgraded to basic (like many recent reviews), they got back to me within a couple days and were able to restore my premium purchase. It does indeed seem to be a glitch and I sincerely hope everyone else affected is able to get their accounts fixed.
With that said, since it was relatively painless to get it fixed and because I do genuinely like the app, I’m updating my review to 5 stars. The simplicity of it is exactly why I like it - the clean look and straightforward tracking without any additional bulk is exactly why I like it enough to have gotten premium in the first place. A lot of habit tracking apps have (in my opinion) unnecessary extra features, but this one is just a very pleasant, clean, straightforward way to keep track of your streaks, which is exactly what I needed.

Hi Sarah, could you please email us at support+done@reflectly.app and we'll assist you asap? 😊 We had a bug a few weeks ago that enabled our users to access their premium features, received tons of messages, and upgraded everyone manually but we're still working our way through the messages - for this reason, please do reach out with your Purchase ID and you'll have your premium back in no time ✨ Thanks for your patience, looking forward to assist you further 💛 The Do'ers

Unsophisticated

Really wanted to love this app, but after three days of using it realise it’s just a glorified to-do list. The premium price is not justifiable. The recorded number of daily steps don’t come anywhere near the number on my Apple Watch, so have asked the tech people at Done why that might be.

Having read reviews it seems that updates have made the app buggy, and valuable features have been removed. For example, you can’t have a yearly habit or a fortnightly habit. And when I asked why they had been removed, the support person couldn’t tell me the reason because they didn’t know.

Also today the app says I still have three tasks to do, but I know I only have two.

It’s frustrating because I like the simple interface, but it just feels like there’s so much more that could be offered for the premium price asked. Many other types of app in the App Store provide more functionality, are more sophisticated and you can see and feel what you are paying for in terms of development and delivery, for less cost. So regrettably I have cancelled my subscription within the one week free trial period. Let’s see if they still charge me. Now I have to try and find another habit app so many out there it’s mind-boggling. I can’t test them all.

Hey there, thank you for your review. We appreciate all the feedback, it helps us as we continuously strive for improving our app 🤓 We are sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with our app 😞 We are considering your request to add monthly and bi-weekly habits (you did not mention yearly habits at the chat to the best of my knowledge), just as we do with all feature requests. We kindly ask for your patience regarding this. We are sorry to see you go - obviously, we will not charge you if you cancel your free trial. Hope to see back one day, the Habit Tracker team

i like this app, BUT…

i’ve used this app for a couple years and pay for the yearly subscription. i love the interface and it’s been helpful for me, but my one complaint is that there are regular delays between when you touch the screen and when it moves and also when you tap to complete a task and when it becomes completed & vibrates. it usually happens after going to another app (while leaving Done on in the background) and then coming back to Done. there’s about a minute of delay before it becomes responsive in a normal manner. by then i’m usually done checking off the habits, but it interrupts the flow and satisfaction of checking things off if it feels like the app i’m paying for is actively making it harder to…check things off. i keep my phone’s OS and the app updated. i’m sure it could just be a technical issue, but if i’m paying such a high price for a subscription, i decided to reach out to bring it to your attention. i still like the app! but i know it could be better

Hi there, thank you for reaching us, it's very valuable feedback! 🙏 We'll look into the issue and make the app as good as we possibly can. Thanks for sticking around and for the kind words. 🤗 Enjoy your day, the Habit Tracker team

Enjoyed app until last update

I have used this app and enjoyed it daily for more than 3 years. Loved it. I updated recently, only to discover a new layout, less functionality (like swiping between days), a perpetual ad to upgrade that won’t go away, much smaller fonts (too small), and a new UI that is only different, not better. And, apparently, I can’t add more habits to track without upgrading. I’m now getting less than promised when I purchased it for a one-time fee. I would be happy if this app would simply revert back to the previous version. Otherwise, I think I’ll look for a different solution. Too bad. —— update Sept 2024 —— Sadly, this app remains unchanged since my last review above. $20 to upgrade to premium when I already paid a fee for lifetime usage… that’s in poor taste. I would love to use this app, but can’t without paying again. Of course, my concern is, I paying again and then get asked to pay yet again. Fool me once… Please revert the app back to the older version. It was so much better, more functional, better designed and more robust.

Can’t live without this app

I’ve been using this myself for nearly a year now and it helps me greatly with my daily routine. I have a very poor working memory and have trouble putting things in order. This does the hard work for me and I can feel much more in control 👌🏻 Highly recommend for kids too. Since I’ve been having trouble getting my 5yr old organised and staying on task to be ready for school in the mornings, I’ve put a list just for her onto the iPad. 1 month in and ITS A LIFE SAVER 🙌🏻. She now finally has the motivation and the visual aid to focus on getting ready and its still working so well! Before I had tried a laminated list of pictures stuck on the wall for her to cross off with a whiteboard marker each day but it never lasted. The bright colours and the little sounds in this app are absolutely perfect for that satisfaction of ticking off a task. It’s simple and perfect 😍

Aesthetically pleasing but has BIG BUT(t)S

I don't even mind paying for more than 3 habits, if I think it'll be useful. I think it's reasonable to allow a trial before purchase. I have concerns over the lack of transparency of prices and plans though. It's offering me a time-limited "lifetime" purchase, but there is no way that I can find to see what my other subscription options are - that makes me very wary. If the one-time offer is so good, why not let me see how good it is by showing me the alternatives? I'm unwilling to pay given how many other people in the reviews have had issues with no response or resolution

"Frustrating - Technical Issues with Persistent Offers and Unfulfilled Purchases

I really like the interface. I've been using the app for 2 years now, but today was the day that I finally got rid of it and started using a different habit tracker because the app has become very annoying.

There is a “limited” offer shown every single time you open the app for a lifetime pro subscription. You have to X out every single time to return to your main habit page.

Twice, I actually purchased the offer just to make it go away, but it was never applied to my account. I never received the pro version even though I was charged for it, and the offer popup kept appearing. Fortunately, Apple reimbursed me. I also reached out to the provider's customer service but received no response.

I guess this is how you lose customers. I don’t understand how they can push an offer so aggressively and then fail to fulfill it when purchased. Disappointed…

Keeps crashing

I just got the app and purchased the full version, I can’t open the app for more than a minute without it completely freezing. I’m so disappointed as I’m a student and it was a fair bit of money to fork out. Really really unimpressed, would like a refund tbh

They are getting greedy

It’s a nice app but it has basically become an aggressive advertising platform for their other apps. Even after paying, I am still faced with constant “gifts” (trying to sell me other products at random price points).

If someone from the company is reading this: your app has the potential to do so much good. It really helped me before you started so aggressively trying to make people buy more and more every time they open the app. I am trying to improve my life and it makes the process way less enjoyable and calm. I have paid for the app. I shouldn’t have to deal with a sales pitch every time I open it. You won’t get huge numbers of people using the app if you continue to be, so, with all due respect, greedy. Please consider changing and letting people just enjoy the app they paid for.

Do not buy. No support responses. Ever.

APPLE SHOULD REMOVE THIS DEVELOPER FROM THE APP STORE. Horrible experience. Zero support. I purchased a lifetime license for Done, yet every time I open it I get a full-screen ad asking me to purchase what I have already bought. I have emailed the developers via the email address in the app, and almost FOUR weeks later, no response despite me emailing them 4 times now. The app is good. Using it though is a horrible experience due to the ads which is extra irritating when you have already purchased what the incessant ads are promoting. If the developers finally fix this issue, I will delete this review. I am not holding my breath though. P.S. I switched to Onrise app. It’s way better. Much nicer UI. No horrible ads either.
