  • Gross gross gross

If you don’t like kale, stay away from this app. I have had a lot of different meal plans and food shipped to me for workouts and low salt and low glycemic and high protein and everything in between. This one of takes the cake for being kale obsessed and otherwise disgusting. One meal it suggested in the no kale but disgusting category was a raw quarter of a bell pepper with philly steak and mozzarella on it. And if you think chicken burgers are almost as bad as kale - it’ll keep trying to mix them in no matter what you do short of excluding all chicken. Chicken Caesar salad burger. Need I say more. Take something good and ruin it. How is it easier to make a gross chicken burger instead of a simple small chicken breast?!! It’s actually more processed. Wannabe hippie yuppies living at Whole Foods made this mess. Avoid.
  • The best I’ve tried

I tried everything to try to get myself out of restaurants and in the kitchen without wasting time or money. I tried meal planners like emeals which is nice but locks you into their schedule and doesn’t account for previously purchased bulk items and I didn’t always love their recipes. Other meal planning apps are specific to a food philosophy. PlateJoy is adaptable and you can change what type of plan to follow anytime.

I’ve also tried meal kit delivery like Blue Apron, Purple Carrot, Sun Basket, and Hello Fresh. Delivery was always a giant hassle and I felt like I was contributing to a lot of waste. Also you never got to develop a spice rack or bulk items just being sent sesame oil and vinegar by the tablespoon. It just felt expensive for a lot of work.

This is the app you want. If you buy olive oil and yellow onions and carrots and a big tub of oatmeal you’ll get recipes next week to use these again. It’s brilliant. And I finally have a kitchen full of food, enough for various recipes, on my own shopping schedule, with limited waste and not being locked into a food style. This is better than I could have hoped for. Worth the yearly fee for sure.
  • PlateJoy has made my life 1 billion times easier

I have this problem where I can’t pick meals for myself.

I try to eat healthy but meal planning is HARD. PlateJoy takes all that stress out and leaves me with a neat, organized menu that minimizes food waste so I can get the most out of what we buy. The shopping list is ready-made for me, and everything is organized so I only have to make 2 trips around the store. (Or maybe 3.)

I absolutely adore this service. As someone who’s trying very hard to incorporate more veggie variety into their life and get a little healthier before pregnancy, it’s been a lifesaver. Thank you so much, PlateJoy team!
  • Great App & Great Food

This is a very good app. We had the same problem every week. What should we make for dinner this week? We’d debate and complain that we always made the same things. Platejoy fixes that by making you a menu with recipes and shopping lists based on your individual dietary restrictions. We do the Paleo recipes but you can select a sleuth of other dietary plans. The recipes taste very good, leave you full and aren’t hard to make. This is well worth the subscription and I highly recommend this app!
  • So Close to Great

This software is written to please insurers in my opinion. I kind of think we users’ activities in this app are just the product being sold to the insurers. “See how many videos we made them watch? Isn’t that great? We are helping. Now pay us for this nanny service.” Is how I think of it working I n order to make a menu and shopping lists. It Patronizing and a waste If my valuable time. I wish I knew this before I signed up for a non refundable year. That length of term is my fault as I got carried away with the potential of this site. But now, three months later, I don’t log in any more because being treated like a child with the force-fed videos really makes me so frustrated.
  • Only meal planning service that works for me

I have recommended this service to so many people - this is the only meal planning service that works for me. I love it because you can FULLY customize your week’s menu AND get a shopping list. This allows me to accommodate my picky preschooler, plan extra batch meals for crazy weeks, and swap meals if we’re craving something different. I have been using this service for about a year and will continue to do so! The app also works really well - I never have to go to the website!
  • Well worth it!!!

I was a bit hesitant to pay for a meal planning service but I'm glad I did!! I spent about a month reviewing different ones before settling on Platejoy and I'm glad I did! The recipes have all been delicious and I love the queue aspect where I can see what's coming up and remove things that aren't interesting to me.
The ability to personalize the types of meals that are provided is key as it ensures I'm getting meals that I will like and that fit into my diet and lifestyle. The only thing I thought they were really missing that they just added was the ability to add my own recipes! And I can't forget to mention their customer service. Their customer service is amazing. You can tell they care about their customers and want you to be happy. Keep it up guys!
  • Best meal planning service

I have been using platejoy for almost three years now. It is the most amazing help I could get to have healthy food everyday. No more endless research and planning the meals of the week. Recipes are overall easy to make and delicious. What’s more you can choose how much time you have to cook. Sometimes it might take more time than they say, but instructions are so well done to maximize efficiency in the cooking process. They have a very impressive number of diet options and it is very simple to take out any ingredient you do not want. Also I prefer a service such as platejoy that plans your meal and shopping list than services that send you a package of food to be made because they produce so much trash with all the packaging. I got so many benefits for my health using platejoy: controlled my acid reflux, lost weight (without dieting) and kept myself healthy during pregnancy. Also, I’ve learned so much about cooking and discovered so many new ingredients! I recommend it for everyone of my friends, but be prepared to cook a lot!:-)
  • Awesome

I’ve been using PlateJoy for about 6 months and I love it. I found it while looking for an alternative to the subscription meal services. As a single person I’ve always struggled with making meals for one that didn’t involve eating the same leftovers for the next week. PlateJoy makes it so easy to plan! I love that they select recipes that utilize leftover ingredients from other recipes so that you don’t have a bunch of excess food sitting around and going bad. There are a ton of personalized meal plans you can choose based on your dietary preferences and you can even exclude ingredients you don’t like/use. They keep tabs on your pantry that you update every week when creating your meal plan and provide you the grocery list for the week. It’s such a well executed service. I can’t say enough good things about it. Worth every penny!
  • Great service

My daughter and I use this to plan menus for us and find it a fabulous value. The variety is good for us and we're vegetarians. I have tried several box delivery services and found that it took as much work as buying the ingredients and making the meal myself, so I just wanted some meal ideas. Platejoy does that for me, and allows me to search for recipes with ingredients I need to use up as well as listing what we need. We can adjust how many of each type of meal we need that week, too. We have been very happy with Platejoy.
