This app needs desperate update!

I use VoiceOver for everything that I do, currently the calendar app is misbehaving! Some events show up correctly, where others do not-I need to be able to access zoom information quickly to join meanings! please correct this problem. Also, please make it possible for those of us using VoiceOver to hear the title of the event and the time/date rather than the long zoom link on the subject line. again, I need to be able to hear the time and date far more than listening to the extra long Zoom link!

Add reminder viewing

Gets the job done and nice aesthetic. It’d be cool if scheduled iCloud reminders showed up in here, like fantastical does.

Last Update Need It Up

I have always been fairly satisfied with the calendar app until the update before last. Now, every time I open the app, the last reminder that I deleted shows up instead of the calendar. If I open a reminder from the Lock Screen the last deleted reminder shows up instead of the current one. Also, in the past if you had an alert for a day or a week before it only showed up on your Lock Screen once. Now, it continues to show up on your Lock Screen unless you delete that alert. It is very frustrating. I was hoping that Apple would have fixed it with the latest update…Nope. Please fix it soon!

No.

A while ago, I deleted the app because I needed to free up some storage. And it’s still sending me unnecessary notifications. Most of the notifications are somewhat sexual related. I am a minor. (idk what name is being used under this review but this is probably my moms account-) And sometimes they make me feel uncomfortable. Also, some of them are supposed to be scams. For example, calendar keeps sending some notifications that say “YOU WON!” As in something exciting happened, like, no calendar, it’s 10:00 at night and I’m trying to sleep. Another type of scam notification I get are something saying “we detected 3 viruses on your IPhone! Click to fix!”. I’m very confused in why this app is sending me notifications even though I deleted the app. (For people using schedule apps or looking for one, I don’t really recommend this one.)

Could have been so much better

Where to start? First my iPhone 12 Pro is my first iPhone since the original iPhone 4. I suffered a TBI and was forced to sell my iPhone and the 2 Mac's I owned. While I'm glad to be back with iPhone and iOS I must express a real confusion with how bad the Calendar App is. It is not available to add to the Control Center and lacks much of the basic functionality of the Google Calendar. I was shocked to see how highly rated the Google Calendar was compared the Apple Calendar, but I do understand why. So I am back to Google Calendar and I thought I ditched all the Google Apps. Apple in order to catch up you need add more reminders inside of the Calendar, add options for how you want reminders sent, add the option to change the color of each event, add a month view that will show what the day's event is by looking at the monthly calendar instead of necessitating clicking on the event. Lastly, please add the Calendar as an option for the Control Center.

OK, but please keep improving

It’s functional enough that you don’t need a third party app instead, though still has room for a lot of improvement.
My biggest request would be the ability to set a time zone for events, since we live in a global world, online events or video appointments are often in a different time zone, especially if you live outside the US. This would just remove the step of having to convert time zones before you make the event. And i do specifically mean time zone, not a city in a different time zone (to negate daylight savings)

My calendar was hacked

My calendar was literally hacked so every day there is events where it wants you to click the event or whatever probably to try to get your info. There is no way to delete the events either without clicking it. I wish they had one where you could like hold down the event and press delete but no you have to actually open it. Also, not sure if there is (because i can’t even open events because they’re weird now) but there should be a button to delete all events that were made for every day or every monday or every wednesday or something so you can easily delete everything at once because literally every day has the same fake events that i didn’t put there.

Improving App by Adding ‘Add Photo’ Feature

If I want to add an image to the app, I have to go to add attachments and then change the photo saved in my phone and move the location to files. This feature is frustrating and makes it so that I want to find another app to utilize. Please add the feature of images being able to be added via attachments and then generating photos saved or simply a ‘Add Photo’ selection. People tend to screenshot important dates and events and also there might be a photo of an event that they took where they want to add it to their calendar. If this app can seamlessly integrate photos to the calendar then it would be helpful. (This would also be disability friendly to people that have cognitive or neurological disabilities; just make it user friendly). 🙂

Great integration but missing important features

I'm impressed with how well the calendar app is integrated with other apps. However the ics support isn't great. I want to selectively set reminders on events on an ics calendar because I'm not attending most of the events on the calendar. The only option available is to set reminders for all or none of the events. The interface allows individual reminders, but it crosses them out because they aren't supported yet. I find this really strange considering apple invented ics a long time ago and it's very popular for public event calendars.

To work around this issue, I tried copying the event to my calendar. But the app doesn't support that. So I have to manually create the same event on my calendar, and Siri always aka me to confirm that I want to schedule an event at the same time as the original event.

The best, easiest Calendar App

I dissed Apple’s Calendar app years back but after trying dozens of calendar apps in the following years, I give. Others want worthless subscriptions. Or are eye chart tests of confounding to use. Apple’s Calendar app is easy to use. Logical and the badge keeps both the day of the week and it’s date. NONE of the calendar apps I tried did that reliably. Setting appointments is easy and obvious. I deleted all the others including the paid for ones.
