  • Search functionality glitching

    I have the premium service and was quite happing with the app but for the last few weeks when I go to search for my plant the app closes. I’ve sent emails to no avail. I’m planning on canceling the service once I retrieve my plant data if the glitch isn’t resolved.
  • Pretty good

    Need to be able to select more than one option. Eg. plant may grow in sandy AND loam soil. Grow in sun AND part shade. May have red OR orange flowers (depending on variety). In this version you can only select one option for most ‘needs’ and ‘events’.
    Would like to be able to link to a website (eg. where further information is held, or where I can buy it, etc). I have put the static web address in Plant Note. I can cut and paste it to a browser.
    Also need to screenshot a photo from the web and upload the photo. Would prefer to upload photo straight from the internet.

    It’s not yet perfect, but it is better than others for its purpose.

  • Excellent plant tracking app

    This is NOT a plant identification app. There are lots of great ones out there. This is an app that keeps track of your plants, where you got them, and when important event occur like repotting (or anything you deem as important as its customizable). You can store up to 5 photos per plant. The paid version allows more photos, but the paid version isn’t available in the us right now. The interface is easy to use an navigate. You can enter as little or as much detail as you want, and can go back and edit the data at any time. It’s my favorite plant app, not for beginners who need to know when to water, but a valuable inventory and “proud plant parent” app!

  • Good app, some software glitches

    Suddenly found all records missing. Couldn’t retrieve them. Then the admin told me to sign in to the same account in another way and after numerous attempts, succeeded in finding my records. Couldn’t find the usual prompt for lost password so be careful. Still puzzled but app working again and otherwise useful.

  • No horizontal mode

    *Please* implement a horizontal view. I use most apps on my iPad, which has a bluetooth keyboard cover, and keeps the tablet oriented sideways. It's very inconvenient that Gardenize doesn't adjust its layout when the screen is turned!
  • Could be More Responsive

    Great idea with some bugs. NO help or response to several in-app messages to Support and email to Founder.

    HOWEVER, I love the data fields and that name, notes, and a few others are free-form so you can enter whatever you like. Photo upload is what I really love.

    Would be nice to have Secondary Color field or make Color be free-form like Notes and Name.

    I had problems having my photos load on my desktop browser. Eventually figured it out on my own — Google Chrome Settings for the Gardenize website were to NOT SHOW INSECURE DATA (which uploaded photos must be INSECURE DATA). I toggled Chrome Setting to Allow Unsecure on Gardenize and voila my photos showed up.

  • Poor customer service and glitchy software

    Initially I loved this app, and I spent some time photographing each section of the garden and drawing on the pics in order to plan any changes I wanted to make. This was great - except that a couple of days later my notes disappeared so that I no longer knew which plant I planned to put where. So essentially I wasted a few hours work. I’ve tried to get in touch with customer support three times and heard nothing. Not what you’d expect from a paid subscription app. Have given up now and will be cancelling my monthly subscription.

  • Loved it until it deleted all my entries!

    I was enjoying this app until an update deleted literally every scrap of photos, data, info — everything — completely reset my account to new. Extremely frustrating. It seemed like it was backed up, but now that’s gone too! They need to fix this bug!

Your data is NOT DELETED, you accidently created a new account using Apple ID, please log out and log back in again, using your old method of logging in and you will find all your data is there.   • Goodbyes are sometimes easy

    Been using the app for over a year now. Developer now asking for a monthly subscription fee. Although free version is still available, I am only able to attach one lousy photo with the free version. Would have gladly paid a one time fee for a premium app version but no way it’s worth an ongoing fee (and I have several apps with monthly subscriptions so I am not opposed to that model of paying). Searched and found another plant/garden app and paid a one time small fee for it. Satisfied. Bye! Bye! Gardenize!
