  • Great app!

I have just begun to use this app to learn the names of notes. I like the approach as it goes through adding a note at a time with audio feedback for the note sounds as well. The only thing I would suggest to add to the app is the ability to start slow when a note is first introduced and increase speed as the learner becomes more successful with the note that is added. One other thing I specifically do like too is how the addition of each note alternates between treble and clef allowing your learning to be more global not specific to the line. I am learning to play the harp and this is important to the harp player. Great app with a lot of evident positive development an thought into it.

  • Best for sight reading!

Honestly, if you are not a great sight reader, this is the app to get. And at only $1.99 for premium, it is a no brainer! It is highly customizable. You can lean the notes in lessons for either staff you choose and then practice those notes with a timer free mode so it goes on and on. You can customize what notes you want to practice so if you only want to focus on a few notes until you master them, you can do that. It even has a midi you can connect so you can play from your piano or just use the apps microphone if no midi. It is a truly wonderful and simple app!

  • Great app, thank you so much!

I have tried several different apps to learn music notes because I bought a violin and I’m determined to learn how to play it. The only problem is.... I can’t read music. I know, that’s a big problem. Most apps do color coordinated things are you learn more to rely on the colors than the actual letters or “notes.” With this app, it teaches one note at a time, gives a lesson, and let’s you repeat that quick lesson as many times as you need to until you feel comfortable moving to the next note. I’m in my 40’s so sometimes I have to repeat it a few times to get it to stick it my old brain, lol. But this is by far the fastest way I have found for me personally to learn fast and retain the knowledge. Also, I just wanted to say Thank you to whoever made this app because they obviously made it due to their love of music and wanting to help others. It is free and I have not had ANY ADS! That is amazing! I am absolutely IN LOVE with this app and will continue to use it until I learn everything I can possibly learn. There are not many people out there who will make apps just to help people, that are completely free & absolutely no ads. So to my hero, Thank You!!

  • Great Tool for a Beginning Sight Reader

I’m currently learning to sight read with no formal training or lessons. I found that this application is not only very helpful at learning the notes on the various clefs, but also challenges you through game lessons to recall the notes your learning. You’re tested in a fun and enjoyable way. It’s easy to look up the notes online or in a book, however, unless you dedicate yourself to studying them, then it’s easy to not put in the time required to really learn them. The app starts off at the very beginning with just 2 notes. Once you’ve completed the lesson, you’ll unlock a new lesson that adds a new note. I’ve purchased the full version since I feel that this app can really help learn to sight read notes. The full version unlocks higher difficulties which can really test your skills.

  • Just what I needed

I’m learning guitar after many years of just fooling around, I decided I wanted to be able to transcribe music instead of always relying on ear. Time to learn how to read music! I just wasn’t getting it and now I feel much better about the task after spending just a hour with this program. Forget FACE and “Every Good Boy...” this is a practical way to build sight memory, which is what I need. It reminds me of learning how to type. There’s no substitute for rote exercise, but this program is not boring it mixes it up so repeat lessons are never the same. I appreciate that. It would be boring if it were like scales or doing written lessons over and over. Great program, thanks!

  • No-frills learning with great features

This app is perfect if you are seeking to improve your sight reading skills or even learn how to read music for the first time. The ability to use the microphone to pick up your keyboard is a fantastic feature. Unlocking everything is only $1.99 which is a great value.

So do yourself a favor and download this app. $2 is a tiny price to pay to learn a skill you will have for your entire life (as long as you practice every now and again!)

  • Pretty dam awesome

Im a freshmen in Highschool, and I play in my schools band as a percussionist. In fear of being left behind buy my peers that can sight read notes better then I can, I decided I should try to teach my self how to read quicker and and more efficiently. I needed something casual that i could easily get on to when i had time and practice a bit. This is perfect with the “awkward amount of time” guy that I am. Its easy to get on and just practice. Its simple to understand and because I went into it already knowing a bit about music, I could easily catch up to wear i needed to be and needed to be practicing at. This is honestly helping me with my naming and the timer is pressuring me to read faster, witch I needed

  • Love it!

It’s super easy to use, it’s free and it truly teaches the notes through exercise/repetition. It gotta become second nature and the only way to learn to read notes fast is practicing! I love this app so far. I insist on staying on the same level until I get ALL three stars. This way I know I didn’t do well just because of being lucky. But because I truly know. Very basic, but it works! I’m looking forward to finding out what comes next!

  • A part of practice

I am a low intermediate skill level on the piano, yet I struggle with QUICKLY identifying notes on the keyboard and notes on the sheet music. About a quarter of my practice time is spent on this app. I paid for premium and what I do mostly is just letting the full treble and bass notes fly by. I identify them as they are highlighted on the music. It would be better if the last note on the most right-hand side would reveal the correct answer. It doesn't so I check myself using all BUT that last note. Anyhow, it really helps.

  • Great app for music teachers!

Found this app by accident and it’s the best thing that has happened for my students. The gamification as-eco of learning notes makes it super interactive and makes learning notes less of a chore.
The only modification I would have is to have a student portal. I have 15 piano students and could definitely use their own statistics to target their weaknesses. I’ve just been having them go through the levels to achieve stars but it would be more beneficial to have their own. Just a thought!
