I needed an app like this 5 stars

I’ve searched for apps like this but they never got what I actually needed but this app has everything and more.

With this app I can now get better at sight reading which I’m not very good at when put on the spot but with the timer I’m getting better, which I really needed being a singer and all.

This app is the best and I’m really happy with the progress I’m making and setting goals helps me stay motivated not to mention it’s super fun and easy to use.

Much better than mnemonics

If you are having a hard time learning notes or simply want an effective way to learn them, you should absolutely get this app. I’ve only been using it an hour and my note identification has already improved leaps and bounds. I’m an adult beginner learning to play piano. I’d been relying on mnemonics to learn the grand staff. But no matter how much I worked on note identification exercises, my note recognition was not improving. I realized the mnemonics were hindering me. Having to state the whole mnemonic, then applying the correct word to the correct note, then finding the note on the staff is not effective. This is a cumbersome and frustrating way for me to learn, and I was beginning to feel hopeless. I’m also using a Faber adult beginners book and love the way it progresses by gradually introducing new notes. So I searched the web for other music note apps that would teach more in that way and found Notes Teacher.

This app is great! I love that one new note is introduced at a time, and I can repeat each lesson as many times as I want. I’m already feeling more confident after just an hour and believe I will soon be able to progress in my piano lessons. To the developer, thank you so much for making this app and helping learners like me.

honestly great

I am on lesson seven right now and I’m just so impressed by how easily they teach something that is so scary and intimidating to learn, you usually have to pay to learn anything on an app. So the fact that these people have just made an app out of the kindness of their heart and shared it with everyone is just so special. Thank you so much, I really recommend this to anyone trying to learn to read. thank you to the devs

brilliant!

Highly recommend. This is the best app (in my opinion) for learning how to read sheet music, as well as learning the notes on a piano. Similar to flash cards in a way.
A suggestion however, to make this app even better, would be to do the recall in reverse:
E.g. a note (and it’s clef) are given, and you are asked to press where on the stave the note would be (this is harder than being shown a note on the stave, and the being asked which note it is). This would be a great feature :) I hope this is already being worked on/ considered (and there may even be a setting where this can be done that I am not aware of).

Just what I need

I’ve recently stated to learn the Harp (I’m 41) and I think this App is going to be perfect for me, have just been using it for two days so far and it’s already helpful. Thanks

Great little app just why I was looking for

Well done, this is a great wee app and I’m loving the simple no nonsense learning tool. Thank you very much

Just started. So far so good. Just one improvement though...

I wish you could remove the timer altogether and after a few goes it speeds up. 50s is not a lot of time to get through and identify so many notes especially when you’re starting from absolute beginner status.

GREATTT

So I had piano lessons and when I was younger I was way to lazy to actually learn notes so I just memorized my songs and pretended like I knew the notes because I was too embarrassed. FINALLY I decided I would get an app to help me, so now I’m here! I started today and I have already learned so many notes! And the fact that this has no ads is just jaw dropping. Overall I think this is a great app and you should definitely
get it if you’re looking to learn notes!

Older adult learning

I’ve tried to learn to read music over the years because I like to sing and have been parts of choirs. The FACE and GOOD BOYS DO FINE ALWAYS method has just not worked for me. This app focuses on repetition, slowly introducing one higher and lower note on the treble and bass staffs. That works for my brain. I just keep repeating the lessons and each time I do it becomes more natural to identify the notes.

Really helping me

I played percussion for years in school , but we barely needed to read the actual notes except for xylophone which was rare I got assigned that instrument so would just write in the notes when I did get it , I have alwayssss wanted to play piano like many other people I am sure , but I have so much trouble memorizing the notes . I bought the 1.99 version so I don’t have to use the timer and very well spent !! Highly recommend
