Accurate Sleep Detection Fails Despite Accuracy Setting Enabled

The app is still counting driving as sleep, even with ‘Sleep detection accuracy’ enabled. Support suggested adjusting sensitivity, but it didn’t address why this issue is happening. Frustrating experience so far.

Obnoxiously unusable if you aren’t paying for it

I had this app for a month or so and then did the ‘premium’ thing for a year. (I don’t like paying for anything on a monthly basis). The app was okay. It tracked a lot of different things, more than I really wanted wanted to know. So I decided not to renew it. However, now the app is so ad-clogged that it’s basically unusable, so I will be looking for a different sleep app. Also, they no longer offer an annual subscription which is a dealbreaker for me.

Update a year later: they did have an annual plan. I did it again. I don’t know why I bother her. This app is not great honestly. I am constantly having to edit how long it tells me I slept because I know for a fact I did not sleep as long as it said I did or the opposite. Further, it gives you a score which makes you feel guilty if you aren’t getting good sleep as if that’s my fault?? and I seem to get better scores when I wake up early regardless of how much actual sleep I got, or how rested I feel. Either the app doesn’t work or the science doesn’t work. In any case I am not going to be using this app much longer

We DO offer an annual subscription. If you wish to have an ad free experience, we offer an upgrade to SleepWatch Premium, with more features and no Ads here: https://www.sleepwatchapp.com/premium/

Absolutely laughable

Whoever writes reviews for this app must definitely be the developer. I’m suffering from dreadful sleep at the moment so trialling several different apps to see if they can give me insights, and taking advantage of the free trials. So when I was awake last night between 3-4, saw that the app told me I was fast fast asleep, yet recorded me boiling the kettle (I took my phone downstairs with me) , it made me roll my eyes with a slight giggle. But folks, that is not all! I actually woke every hour, yet I was congratulated for hitting me 8 hour, 15 minute sleep goal 🫣😂🤣😂. I really think all sleep apps are a bit of a placebo. Sleep cycle seems to be the most accurate along with Pillow. Mintal inaccurate, Sleepwatch absolutely laughable; used trial for several nights, total rubbish 😂🤣😂

No difference to apple health

So recently got the Apple Watch SE and Oura ring 3 with SleepWatch and Autowatch apps.

I have been trying increase my sleep by going bed at 11 and taking magnesium, cbd and some night time gummies

AW and SleepWatch report exactly the same for me (Same algorithm I guess) but the SleepWatch interface is a lot nicer than Apple’s. Sadly after logging nearly 7.5/8 hours of sleep every night both report less than 30 mins deep sleep and does not show me cycling into to this stage throughout the night (3-5 times). Also when I have woken up in middle of the night both didn’t record it.

Oura ring and autowatch give similar results and for 7.5-8 hours sleep my deep sleep ranges from 1-1.5 hours which is more feasible but they also both picked up when I’m awake. So last night I woke up at 5am (foxes screaming at each other :/ ) and both accounted for that while AW and SleepWatch said I was still asleep.

So for me SleepWatch isn’t worth the monthly subscription since it gives exactly same answer as Apple’s but does not pick up the sleep stages that are important to me or log when I’m awake.

Great App When it works

I’ve had this app for two years now. Premium version. Since the 7th of May it hasn’t tracked my sleep at all. Can you give me a reason for this?? I have just deleted the app but kept the subscription and the data. It still says the app isn’t up to date. And on the App Store I update everything that I can. Hopefully after redownloading the App it will work. If not what should I do. Everything is on in my Health app and I have an IPhone 15 Pro Max

Update

The main thing I used was tracking my heart rate over the course of the night and that feature has been removed. Not even offered in the premium account features.

Not accurate sleep data

I have used a different sleep app for years now, and was curious about the better level of data available on this app, so thought I’d give it a try. The first two nights, it said I fell asleep in 10 minutes, when this 100% was not the case, as I was getting up to turn on the aircon, and tossing and turning. It also didn’t detect any of the wake events/disrupted sleep, when I had looked at the clock and knew when I had woken. I compared it to my previous sleep app last night, setting both to track on my watch, and setting this one on my phone as well. It didn’t even record any data. I’ve cancelled my subscription as I think when it has written everywhere that all data are “estimates”, it means guesses, rather than actual data.

Good insights, terrible app

The insights are very detailed compared to other apps, although it doesn’t really explain why something is good or bad for sleep, just compares you to other users. I found the app itself to be very poor. It doesn’t really give you any assistance in setting it up, or how to use it properly. I found myself getting frustrated as I couldn’t work out how to set the alarm, but eventually discovered you can only do this via the app on the watch. The alarm only has one sound, and in my experience I wasn’t able to stop it, it kept going and going and I ended up turning my watch off completely. My wife didn’t enjoy it at all, haha!

Confusing and inconsistent reports

I’ve been using this app for close to a year, I like that it tracked my oxygen levels and my pre-bedtime behaviors. I think it identified clearly that I sleep better after I’ve had physically active days. Other behaviors seem less important after tracking.
But I’m confused with the number scoring system. I can have a similar number of hours of sleep, both restless and restful, with a similar change in heart rate and interruptions, and my score will vary between 200 and 500. I don’t understand the wild swings in the score after similar data in the various categories. It is frustrating when I wake after 8 hours, feeling rested and ready to tackle the day and then see my sleep score was “poor”. I am discontinuing my subscription, because, while I did learn that physical activity makes me sleep better, no surprise there, I don’t like the negative feedback even when I “feel” like I got a good night sleep. I have gotten some of my best scores when I neglected to wear my watch to bed. Or when the battery died partway through the night and it recorded only three hours of sleep for which I got a 600 score rather than seven hours sleep, and a 300. I am going to work on consistently increasing my daily physical activity and quit tracking my sleep.
I did try it briefly for the snoring function, but it picked up our dog’s snoring, so not effective for us.

Really really bad app!

I don’t usually write reviews but I feel scammed so I want to help others not pay for this app.

I use Apple Watch SE 9 along with the iPhone app when going to bed. The data it collects is not accurate more than 80% of the time!! I have to manually adjust or add the sleep times. On the iPhone it stops tracking my sleep for unknown reasons. On the Apple Watch it doesn’t allow me to end sleep if I accidentally press “continue sleeping”; it just continues to count until it thinks I am asleep again and then I can end sleep a few hours later; so the data is all messed up. I am frustrated because I paid good money for this app to do something simple; I let it know when I am going to sleep and when I wake up so all it has to do is calculate the time in between I press 2 buttons but it can’t even do that! I chose this app over other sleep apps because of the amount of reviews but I will not trust that anymore! Sorry Sleep Watch I am beyond annoyed. I would give you -5 stars. This app is supposed to be helpful for my state of mind not make it irritated… bye! I have a few months left of my one year sub but I am not testing this horrible app anymore!
