  • I don’t like the update

I love this app and have created very many great looking black and white images using it. I would say control options is what sets this apart from the other apps in its class. However this last big update some of the best things about this app have changed. The warm control now actually changes the color of the image from a cool berg blue color to a warm sepia color. Before the image would stay black and white but the tone would change without the actual color changing which allowed me to get some very interesting tones out of the image. The hue control used to be the same way now it changes the actual hue of the photo which won’t make any difference unless you make it warmer or cooler. Those were the 2 main features that set this app apart from the others for me and now it’s just not as useful or as fun for me to use. I wish developers would change this back or give the user the option to do so. Other than this I would have rated it 5 stars

  • Trash! Waste of time!

They have a total of 4 black and white filters. The rest you have to pay for. I think instagram has that many. You also have to pay for all the duotone filters and old photo filters. Both of which are clickable prompting the buy screen at which time 2 screens pop up before you are allowed to get back your picture. So there isn’t really a way to tell which filters are off limits to you until you click, Trash! This app is a waste of time stay away.

  • Incredible

The in app purchases I don’t need bc there r so many other options and I have edited lots of my photos using this incredible app and they look so professional. I can’t emphasise how great this app is. Definitely get but there is no point in the in app purchases - it is easy to navigate and useful whether u r bored and need something to play around with or whether u r a highly qualified photographer and photo edited, this app is for u

  • They Got Me

I’ve had every iteration of iPhone since the 3G, which means I’ve tried just about every photography app on the market.

This app is NO DIFFERENT than most of the filter-heavy photo apps available.

    Seriously.

It’s got the exact same tools and the same filters as about three dozen other apps.

Yet for some reason (probably the bourbon I was drinking), they duped me into paying $20 to unlock everything. I don’t know what I was thinking, but I did it and then sat in stunned, disappointed silence as it occurred to me that I just paid twenty bucks to do the same thing I’ve been doing for the last decade: apply filters and fine tune photos with a series of basic sliders.

So my advice to you is to go grab one of the dozens of competing apps for MUCH less money.

  • Amazing

I have tried a few different photo editing apps and nothing compares to this one. Easy to use, and awesome results. I recently had an issue that ended up being my fault, but the owner of this app got back to me fast and helped me out. Would recommend to everyone
  • Expensive, and full of shady up-selling

Sorry, but the constant interruptive and urgent Up-selling is not just annoying, it borders on "dark design". Considering the price of outstanding apps like Darkroom, this is not well priced. The app might look slick, but the filters are nothing you can't find in apps that cost a fraction of the price. Unless the half priced discount for full access is dodgy psychological marketing, then you can buy the professional class Affinity apps for less than "full access". A shame really, the app looked promising.

  • Worth it

I’ve loved this app since I downloaded it. Worth the cost and has become my go to when I want a black and white image. The other day I had a question and within an hour I had a response and my issue was fixed. Impressive customer service. Keep up the great work!
  • In-app purchase

I recently downloaded this app and then purchased the full suite of filters and textures which the app said were half price at that time. But I was charged the full price. Is there any recourse? Have attempted to contact the developer but with no response.

Update: I was contacted by the developer, who resolved the problem concerning the charge for filters and textures. Thanks! I have just started using the app, and I like my initial results. I think that this app will meet my needs for b&w images nicely.

  • Carbon is my favorite B&W filter app

I use 20+ photo editing apps. Carbon is my go to app if I want b&w filters. The filters are easy to use. The output looks very professional.

Lot of my photo subjects are from India with varying skin tones and varying color clothes. Carbon provides fantastic output. People love my bw carbon converted image over the color images I get from them.

Good job keep developing more great features

One thing I want to see.
When i am editing pictures, I like the way it looks with shadow and framing.
I would love to be able to safe a high resolution picture with shadows etc
At present i snap the image of the screen and use the photo. The resolution is lost.

Would love to see a way to save the entire photo and shading as I see on the edit.

    All the best
    Chandra

  • Amazing App

I used the free version of this app for a few months and then parched the full Plan for my photography classes in college. It’s easy to use and gives you a clean transition between Black and White. I recommend this app to anyone looking to make some amazing black and white photography
