Not a bad app
Bought the Auqasky LED Bluetooth app controlled model the other day. Overall, I like the way the aquarium looks with this light. The two biggest updates I’d like to see have already been mentioned in reviews, but I’ll mention them again. 1) I’d love to have more flexibility in color controls for the sunrise and sunset. Would love to be able to put more reds/oranges in there. 2) I would like to see an additional “overnight” setting. I like the subset fading to blue, but I’d like an option to fade to black an hour or two later.
Other than that, it’s a good product.

No directions
Got this light as part of a package deal when I bought a new aquarium and stand. Thought it was weird having to turn the light on with an app instead of a switch. But now i love it because the lighting is awesome and bright making my fish look even prettier! Only complaint is there was no directions on how to use the light in the box or app so I have to play with it to figure it out of which my time is very limited.

Good but could be excellent
The app works fine with the LED lighting unit in terms of pairing. You do need to select the light unit if you go away for a lengthy period of time. So I tested it in the morning and then evening and had to re-find via Bluetooth but it took only 2 seconds. The lights are nice and powerful with enough colour choices. You can program the timer so that the night mode has 0% blue so in effect it is turned off. I like the tapered effect I can set against time so it gets dark throughout the evening slowly. The App would be a must and would corner the market if it had Siri integration. Imagine how cool it would be just saying “Hey Siri, change the tank light to blue”. Plus the app should have tank planning features so you can record water quality results, water changes, maintenance schedules , so it would make it more holistic and relevant. It is pricey but you can find deals and cash back deals as high as 10%.

A few tweaks would be great!
Overall, I really like the Light but the App itself could really use a few tweaks. One of which would be the ability to set an “Off” time on the Auto Mode. The Moon Light Setting is nice but having the light turn completely off would really save on the life of the LED’s and just overall be better. Tossing in a few “fun” settings would be nice as well, as one Reviewer suggested a “Moving Cloud Cover” setting. Just a few Weather Related Settings would really add a bit more realism to the Tank.
I would also like to add that when adjusting the Auto Settings, it sometimes does not take the adjustment when clicking Save. I often have to go right back to the setting, re-adjust and then click Save again before it will properly take.
Please update this App accordingly and there would be many that would be appreciative.

Rubbish!! Also won't work with iPad 2
Saw all videos on the aquasky Bluetooth led light and looked amazing so saved and got the 27 watt one. Downloaded app on my iPad 2 air and won't recognise my Bluetooth as being on so won't pair with device, tried troubleshooting and still didn't work. So had to use a very old mobile phone to download app which picked up Bluetooth on device.. Disappointed with the 24hr setting (which was main reason for buying light) 1 you can't adjust a lot of things only time or colour, you can't set weather for different days of week or have multiple affects on same day either.. Example you can only have thunderstorm once a day or on multiple days at the same time.. You can't have thunderstorm Monday and Friday then cloudy the other days plus also you can't have thunderstorm and cloudy in same day at different times, I was hoping I could go from sunny to cloudy to the storm over a period of 24hrs but you can only have 1 dramatic action per day at same time every day. It's very deceiving, what you see on the demo isn't what you get, it leads you to believe you can do more than you actually can. Also demos show different control settings too so it's hard to work out instructions... I'm very disappointed especially for the price I paid (wasn't cheap) I'm considering returning it for refund to but some normal led bulbs.. Less hassle and stress.

Good App could be updated to make perfect
I really like this app. I love the light and it’s 24/7 feature. Like another reviewer said the lighting customizable section is lacking, and the moon light feature should have a feature to turn off after a certain time. I don’t like my lights on while I’m in bed and nobody will be looking at it. I also wish it the customization was easier to handle rather then just dimming or increasing specific light colors. They have some presets but I feel like it’s not enough, bring more in, the more the merrier. Fluval you’re so close to having an incredible light and app combo, with some updates it would make it perfect for any fish keeper.

Almost, but not quite...
We are new to the Marine aquarium hobby and bought these lights as they were in budget, whilst the lights seem great, the app needs a little work...I’d love to be able to turn the lights off completely after a couple of hours of ‘moonlight’, I’d also like to be able to adjust the light intensity during the day...maybe introducing 1-2hr time intervals during the day would be possible to make it ‘fully customisable”. The led labels are also slightly confusing to someone new to the hobby - is Pink actually Red? Is purple actually UV? What is cyan - what benefit does it have? I find it all rather confusing.

Poor customisations. Bad instructions.

Fluval boast different weathers systems and so on. Plus a 24h cycle.
However when you go to use the app. The 24h cycle is set (you can’t have it switch off completely after sun down)
Also the different weather systems as cool as they are you can only set one per a week!
If you try to set a different system from Monday to Tuesday etc.
Say cloudy Monday and sunny Tuesday. It won’t let you. Only selects the last choice.
Also if you put the light on a timer to over come the lights off issue at night. Its forgets the blue tooth and resets.
The sunset and sun rise colours are not adjustable. Which is a shame, I’d like to be able to chose more red for the sunset. A light this expensive and which boasts this much tech, you’d expect better.
An expensive mistake on my behalf I guess.

Fluval.. Hagen is pretty good for animals, the highest step in mid to top range animal products. I’ve had two of the gen 1 plant and aqualife led lights and one just failed after over three years (just the power box). Upgraded to the Plant 3.0 and I already want to buy two more because of the incredible new technologies, alas, the app is not working right off the bat. I’ve been adjusting the lights and when I went to all my saved options they inverted. As in lights on when you wanted them off for all save options. I had to go to manual and turn all 5 color spectrums off on the first night of usage. Was I playing too much? I don’t think so. Fluval/Hagen can and will fix this soon I hope.

Fluval plant 3.0
A little disappointed with the app for the planted 3.0, the premium lightnunit and it’s missing things like storm/weather functions which are available on the cheaper aquaskys, also the option to turn off the blue light really needs to be updated as soon as possible, don’t think anyone needs to really have it on all night. I suppose I’ve been spoilt coming from using Ai prime HD’s but in all honesty the app developers should look at Ai and see how custom they have made their unit and borrow a few ideas.
