Clashes with Car Play - unusable app
So I recently upgraded my Audi Q3 to a newer model to catch up with and utilise Car Play technology - which I love. I purchased my car through Audi and went to the uncheap expense of them fitting the UTR front and back.
The UTR app connects with the UTR camera like a hotspot. However, whenever it tries to do this, the Car Play connection/hotspot overrules and boots the UTR out every time rendering the app useless. Therefore, I can’t do anything with the UTR including updating the firmware. The tech guys at Audi have no idea what to do.
I go to and pay Audi for a hasslefree, reliable and streamlined driving experience. That is not what I’m getting and the lack of joined-up thinking, knowledge and support around their UTR integration is so very disappointing.

Can't connect to phone
After instaling last version 2.70 the dash cam in not connecting to phone.
Good UTR, bad app- no connection
I had the Audi UTR in my 2019 Q8. It worked great for a year or so, then it disconnect and had an icon for a “firmware update”. Then the pandemic hit so I never took it in to the dealership to have their techs help me reconnect. It would not reconnect for me, saying “incorrect password”.
When I bought my new Audi, I had an Audi UTR installed thinking the previous issues were with the user (me) and not the app, but it seems it is the app. Numerous Audi forums online are thread after thread of the exact same connection issues. My car has been at the dealership where their tech guys have spent days trying to get it to connect. It has connected to some iPhones and not on others. Now we cannot even get those phones to connect again.
Hint: why not make the connection as simple as scanning a bar code or QR code?
Why not offer a phone number where the Audi techs can get tech support?
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME WITH an AUDI UTR until these issues have been addressed!! You will regret it.

Audi UTR
The one review here is seriously unfair, I think. Although the instructions for set up aren’t as clear as they should be, If they are followed (with the exception of putting iPhone in Aircraft mode, this will Not Work! Just make sure your phone is fully charged before starting the process), setup and firmware update goes without a problem. The features in the app work as appropriate, and has a number of features that most third party traffic cams lack. Am fully satisfied to this point, and given the cost, this is a good thing.

Does not save to device
Please make all the downloaded videos go to an album on your iPhone. I have to screen record or take out the sd card to get my file it is archaic
Incredibly disappointing
Like others have mentioned in their reviews, I expect something significantly better from a brand like Audi. The software is pretty garbage. It's impossible to connect to the camera over WiFi because your phone will just switch back to the car's WiFi. The only way I've been able to get around this is to make my phone forget my car's WiFi network. But thankfully, the VLC Player can read the AVI files on the SD card so I can still get the front and rear videos (they're separate tracks in the same file)

Appalling
An absolute waste of time. My car was stolen and we couldn’t use the app. When my car was recovered we still can’t use the app.

Disappointed
The camera itself is pretty good overall for front and rear however the interaction with the app is terrible. Unable to upload and it only saves to the app not the phone itself.
Trash app
This app is a total trash and not usable. It can never establish a stable connection with the Audi UTR, keeps disconnecting and can never show any recorded video clips. The only way to access the clips is to manually remove the memory card and have it read by a card reader on a computer.
Lacking features
I am disappointed to report that the Audi UTR app is lacking features I would have expected in such an expensive system. For example: no moving map showing the vehicle location when replaying video - just the lat/long coordinates as an overlay on the video. Not helpful! I suggest Audi look at competing products for examples of a good dash cam app.
